Another good nostalgia character that would be neat in smash is Marina from Mischief makers!
She would probably be a good grapple character, she is also another character that needs to be in a new game, hopefully the original game will be on the VC sometime.
Just kidding. I voted Banjo & Kazooie on the site, just because Phil said it, but a character like Inkling is actually far more likely, or possibly Snake. Seeing as their asking at all, they really are open to any suggestions, I would guess, except assist trophies and other characters in the game in any form already. Wolf could probably come back, maybe Pichu. Tails, Knuckles, etc. Nintendo owned characters are going to be far more likely by default, but you never know.
@TeeJay They could easily make a patch to take out the assist trophy and put her in as a character. Also, why is Waluigi one of the leaders and most requested fighter when he's already an assist trophy as well? Just because she's an assist trophy doesn't mean her fate is sealed forever. Also...you know you want her in... Everyone wants her in... Barack Obama wants her in... A piece of cheese wants her in... That rock over there wants her in... Don't try to escape the fact that you really just want her in... You'll see...
My guess is that maybe they think that they'll do some sort of work around where they're replaced with another character to be the assist trophy when they're in battle. Similar to how Alfonso replaces Toon Link in the Spirit Tracks stage when he's in battle.
I really doubt Sakurai would remove Assist Trophies just to make them characters. Anyways Assist characters aren't happening, I can already say that.

Maybe they'll add some assist trophies or more Pokemon. Hardcore players play with items in free for for alls, because you can tell when some people don't play with items enough to actually stand a chance. Real truth.
Some Kingdom-Hearts-character would certainly be neat.
But I can't understand all the posts saying that Sora was a fan favorite (like in the comments for the NL poll).
According to this list hardly anybody did vote for him and the posts in this thread hardly mentioned him if they did at all.
Though I really don't know why.
I'm getting tired of seeing these random graphs, unless there's a huge world wide graph made up the actual people who have voted in the US, Euro and Japan vote sites I'm just ignoring them.

And I don't plan on voting any more (though I also really want Cranky Kong in). I only realized that Kamek is already in Smash Run and Mushroom Kingdom U, but they could just refer to that one as Magikoopa.
I would LOVE for Starfy to be playable, but he's already an Assist Trophy, so...
