Topic: Super Mario FPS

If Nintendo made an FPS came to bring back "core" gamers, what would it be like? Has Nintendo ever had an ESRB M/PEGI 18 first party game?

I actually think it would be pretty hilarious if they did that. It would be an FPS with some whacky Mario twist, which could actually be pretty interesting.

Nintendo has published several mature rated titles, including a Gamecube horror game "Geist", a Wii Remake for Fatal Frame 2, and is publishing Beyonetta 2.
However, Nintendo wants to stay as a company anyone can pick up and play. Whether you're 7, or 30. And thats great for Nintendo. They've created quite a fanbase with that move, and continue to grow with that idea.

A Mario FPS...would never work. 'Nuff said.

I think it would be great if Nintendo made a FPS, but a IP please, not Mario. Also, nothing says an FPS has to be rated M. The T rating would work perfectly fine. Hopefully Miyamoto will make that FPS he said he's wanted to make.

Are you serious? ._. Where has Miyamoto said this? (Not trying to prove you wrong or anything, just curious)

Miyamoto said he was working on a new IP...but I'm not sure if we've gotten any information on that yet? Or have we? Is it a game they've already showed us that I haven't noticed?

Yes I want a Mario FPS so I can run around as Yoshi while wearing a cap backwards and shooting bowser and his kids with an SMG!

I actually think this would be cool. It could be a 1st person platformer (do those exist?) and obviously, instead of guns there would be Fire Flowers.

Lets face it Halo copied Metroid Nintendo could make a darker Metroid that would blow Halo away

My previous post was just a joke, but I personally find it as an awkward idea, sorry man.

Halo came out before Metoid Prime so I guess Bungie traveled to the future to copy Metroid Prime.

Could this mean Retro got inspiration from Bungie for Metroid Prime? If so, I am fine with it, but still unexpected.

There can be done a lot more with the first-person perspective than just shooting. Mirror's Edge was a example of what is possible beyond the restrictions both developers and gamers alike set upon themselves...
