@Shahinshah 35-37
I got it for 38 three or so weeks ago.
I want to enjoy it. But it's hard to enjoy. Like the first level is really fun to replay but I hate lockon mode.
If it were 100% on rails I think I'd really really really love it. Free roam is a pain since there's no finesse in turning and your laser range is not very good.
@televisions The best way to do a sharp turn is a combination of slam the brakes and tilt in the direction you want to turn. I really struggled at first in all range mode too but now I have no problem chasing them down. It's pretty easy to keep track of Starwolf and Co once you get the hang of it.You don't even really need to look at the Gamepad either ,I just lock on and follow their path .Can get a lot of hits before they disappear off the TV,then do a sharp turn or U-turn and you'll be back facing them again.
@OorWullie thanks. I'll give it a shot.
I put it down for the day though. Got so pissed. A game shouldn't get you that frustrated (and I'm in the Camp that really really wants to enjoy it).
@televisions I know the feeling,it sounds like you're having a similar experience to me. I put it down for a couple of weeks actually,I got that frustrated with it Put it on again eventually and it all just seemed to feel more natural. Good luck, you'll get there.
Should be getting my copy in the post tomorrow. I feel if i am terrible at Zero, i'll be spending all my time playing Guard instead. Whether or not i wanna make a youtube vid about it is another thing. I seem to suck more under the pressure of a camera lol.
May play some Snes Starwing to get me in the mood tonight.
..and Plumbings our game.... https://youtu.be/Vxj_ARoHiu4 Black Arrow Game Talk Episode One is now Live
^Almost all of Ninty's output for the Wii U has been budget titles if you want to use that excuse. I find it more worrying is the amount of 2nd copies that are on sale as it shows those who did buy a copy weren't happy to keep them which is rare for Ninty and it's usual evergreen status.

It's hard to say what counts as "budget" anymore considering how bloated AAA game budgets are nowadays.
I mean, you could practically argue Breath of the Wild only needing to sell around 2 million to make a profit is "budget" compared to some games nowadays
Though I think regardless, I can't see them making a Star Fox Zero 2. Which is fine, as it's part nostalgia-game and part Wii U focused gimmick game. But I have a feeling Star Fox will be fine in the long-run. Most recent game had Miyamoto heavily behind it and a decent amount of marketing push, fits a niche no other Nintendo game does at all (unless they somehow decide to make Sin and Punishment 3). 2 Star Fox games would've been on 3DS in a year had they not decided to transform one of them into a Kid Icarus game...
I mean, seriously! They gave Chibi Robo 3 chances to fail before they decided to even just change genre. And that series isn't 1/3 as popular as Star Fox is, to this day.
Finally played every stage (took me forever to unlock the asteroid field so ended up looking that one up), all in all, most stages make me feel super pumped for having beaten them
Especially those dog fight stages, though getting medals is gonna be tough
I hear that as part of this weeks eShop update, Nintendo are releasing demos of Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard. If true, it 's a little late don't you think? And would a SFZ demo do more harm than good?
Edit: I should say that this is for the European eShop but no reason why it won't be for the US too.
Had a go at the infamous Co-op Mode yesterday after having a friend (who was a pretty decent SF64 player in his time) over. It was kind of cool. As a bit of a control freak, I felt slightly bereft not having access to the actual flight controls, but I got used to my gunner's role, and he settled into his role as pilot with remarkable ease. We beat the first level, and then skipped straight to Sector Gamma (I think - the mach-speed level) because it's one of the coolest levels in the game. Then we ended up being strung along by the game into completing all the subsequent levels until we'd beaten Andross himself.
I was surprised, as I didn't think we'd be able beat the final levels on his first attempt, but he made a remarkably good pilot, and I was pretty accustomed to gunning stuff down. It was mainly straightforward in terms of knowing what to do (fly around and don't crash into stuff), but there were some nice bits of genuine co-operation necessary, where I was shouting "fly here" whilst shooting at the place I was talking about, and "turn into a chicken!", which caused some slight confusion, as I hadn't mentioned the Walker at that point.
@SetupDisk I for one dont think they're complicated.
I think they're unnecessary.
The more I play it the more I just cant understand why a classic control setup wasn't an option.
It's also kinda inconsiderate to anyone who may have fine-motor/physical disabilities as to some this game is completely unplayable.
It's just not accessible and, even though I 'get' the controls and can use them, I still dont find them satisfying nor do I find they enhance or enrich it.

That doesn't make sense. He was suggesting they made it on a small budget. I seriously doubt Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade X and Zelda: Breath of Wild were made on an equally small budget.
