Well, maybe it's not fun to some of you today, but I was playing Lylat Wars (Star Fox 64) with my friends in 4 player mode back in 1997. It was one of the first games to have a 4 player splitscreen mode ever, only next to Mario Kart 64! So definately the first 3D flying game for 4 players at the same time, AT LEAST! It was a milestone back then and endless fun.
I remember when we unlocked the Landmaster (tank) and the on-foot characters that carried a rocket launcher for multiplayer! It was chaotic and everyone of my friends had his couple of favourite "vehicles". That was good times!
Even the cancelled Star Fox 2 for SNES had a 2P mode.
A good Star Fox game needs a dogfight action multiplayer mode (with different vehicles to choose from). The single player mode of Star Fox Zero is pretty good, yeah, but multiplayer is icing on the cake.
When I read 1-2 players in the game description, and all I get is a torn-apart co-op control mode, I feel weird. ^^
the price of the game was slowly creeping down on Amazon and I picked it up.
I quite like it. The challenge of the controls aren't discouraging and it's no more challenging than Wonderful 101 (actually I think Wonderful 101's controls were far more challenging)
So I think its now fair to ask.......just how much did Zero sell as of now?
It sold very poorly. About 250,000 copies. It has no chance of reaching 500,000 according to experts. Its sales were front loaded as evidenced by its quick departure from the charts. It's not like the other evergreen Wii U titles, e.g. Smash Bros., MK8, Splatoon, etc. Its price slips down by a couple of € nearly every week which is more proof that it bombed. You can already buy it for £20 and it has some way to go. The game is another Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash and Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE To be honest Nintendo killed its potential when they said NX was launching March 2017. It could've been as well received as Smash and sales still would've flopped just by that 1 comment by Nintendo.
Im still having problems making sharp turns when I need to.
It is hindering the enjoyment of the game a bit and is getting less encouraging as I go on. I like so much about the game but this is becoming a hgue pain.
Heck I think it was the third level. The big dog fight.
And then the boss on the ground. Turning accurately felt like a chore and I feel like I'm missing a simple and very dumb trick.
So I finally got hold of his. Actually really like it so far. It's definitely a weird control scheme but it's far from game-breaking. Anyone else get the sense it would've worked a bit better with the wiimote though? Motion controlls but just using 1 screen.
It's weird yet not surprising that that one secret Star Wolf fight was even tougher than the "final" full team Star Wolf fight. Weird in that it makes no sense, but not surprising as you get these secret levels to find after already beating the game IIRC.
I think I have 26 medals. Doubt I'll get them all but I could see myself getting to like...50 at some point soon (depending on how much I want to play the game again soon).
anyone with problems with this game should at the very least also be annoyed that no one else is making proper 3d shoot-em-ups or the like. Kinda like Zelda, it's infuriating how little the entire rest of the game industry is doing with such a thing.
@Shahinshah being a sales failure isnt the same as being an outright failure of a game. It simply means that it didn't sell. And SF Zero did not sell.
Look at the steep price drop it's already gotten on Amazon. That's not a good sign for an almost brand new first party game.
So managed to just pick up a First print copy of this. Which i am seeing is going to be rare soon as brand new editions seem to be gone everywhere at a good price already.
Quite looking forward to owning a physical release of Star Fox Guard as well. I'm a sucker for owning physical media still.
..and Plumbings our game.... https://youtu.be/Vxj_ARoHiu4 Black Arrow Game Talk Episode One is now Live
@KevTastic84 That's largely why I got it when I saw the price dip. I love to own Physical copies.
I'm torn on Devil's Third. I've spoken with a lot of people who love it but the retail price doesnt seem to want to go down.
