What time does the update hit?

Tower Control is coming on 2nd July!

EDIT: Given timezones, some have it tomorrow (everyone gets it at 7pm Pacific Time tomorrow)

Had some epic battles last night with 2 of my Wii U friends. If we were all on the same team we rolled the other team to the tune of 70 something to 20 some thing every time. If one of us was on the other team against the 2 not once did the one win. Shows how dominating 2 good players were against one. Teammates were not that great last night as you could see since just 3 of us were dictacting everything. I was + 14.5 on wins by nights end only losing 5 times in about 2 hours.

I do remember @TeeJay and I had the most lopsided win I've seen yet the other day. It was something like 90.1 to 6.4. I felt so bad for the other team as they couldn't even leave there spawn point without getting killed lol!

Oh boy, even more ways to have my rank go down. Though I am excited to play Tower Control, I just wonder how useful would rollers be in this mode considering they're meant to be close-ranged.

Ah nice I was starting to get a tiny bit bored of Splatzones, also we should definitely get some thread games going and @Spoony_Tech when playing with a skilled thread it does get very one sided, I got a 93 something to a minuscule amount playing with mates.

Yeah Tower control! As different as I feel ranked splatzone is from turf war this looks completely different. As @Iggly said - what use is a roller in there? I suppose mops could be of use if you are up there defending yourself. Even subs should be different - not sure seekers would do a lot. Inkstrikes will be flying fast and furious though.

Surprised they are releasing this 2 days before Spaltfest. Makes me think July 2nd was always the date as US spaltfest went from June 20 to July 4 and UK went from June 27 to July 4. This would have been more incentive to come back after the splatfests were over. Guess they decided not to bother moving it. Why not put it up w/ today's update though?

So what's the deal w/ Spaltfest? I know we play for our chosen team, but is it turf war, splat zone, maybe tower control, all 3, we choose which 1? If it's just turf war I'll go back to my trusty aerospray RG. Maybe even give the new speedy carbon roller a go.

@rjejr If you're team cat please take the Carbon roller!

@jazzer94 and @Spoony_Tech - I hope you guys realize you prove the point of why there is no voice chat in this game. And no friends in ranked. And levels max out at 20 so you guys leave the noobs alone in turf war and go play in ranked. Which of course you don't want to do b/c you can't play w/ friends - kind of a catch-22 that one is. Maybe tower control mode is a way to keep the good players occupied. Maybe you guys should try playing turf wars blindfolded. Voice chat wouldn't have helped me the other night, it was me and 7 names in languages I couldn't read. Can't recall the outcome, I'm always looking at ranks after battle, not names. I still hate seeing 20, 20, 19, 20 beating 16, 14, 12, 6. I still think splitting up 1-10, 11-20 would be a good idea like they do w/ the letters in ranked. Especially now that some level 20 players are probably more like 50. I just turned 20, so maybe I'd be 21.

Is the update up yet?

If the update is coming out at the same time Splatoon usually updates, then it's probably going to arrive 7 PM Pacific.

You and your kids going to be able to play at all on the 4th? I hesitate to ask b/c I know how you feel about the whole thing, but I figure we're good. We have a bbq to go to 3 blocks away at 3PM, kids will be up at 8AM to watch part 2 of a Pokemon cliffhanger, so we'll have plenty of time in between to play. I expect to be too drunk to play when I get home, but if it's just turf war I'll come hook up w/ you guys and you can carry me. Aerospray RG will help even the scales amongst the noobs. Heck it's 4th of July, half the players will be wasted all day anyway.

@rjejr Yeah I'll most likely get a few games in. I actually work all day and my son will be gone from about 10 or 11am on but I'll let him play. If work is slow enough I might be able to take a nice 2 hour brake and I'll come home and play a bit. It's a 13 hour work day for me so the 2 hours will be welcomed if slow.

Speaking of Splatfest is it just turf wars during the event or is mixed up?

@rjejr Ranked it to volatile at times for me can get frustrating when the team synergy is none existent so I need to rek some as you say "noobs" in turf to de-stress myself.

Dynamo Rollers could be highly useful as a weapon, since the enemies would probably often be close together.

I wasn't really paying attention until now, but we're getting Tower Control soon? What's that like anyways? When I first heard of it, it sounded like it's going to be like Splat Zones, or something. >.>
