What if Self-Destruct was a special weapon? When it is charged, you could press the R-Stick and BOOM! You're dead, but you cover a wide radius and destroy anything within that radius. Cool, right?
Only if right before everyone gets demolished an image of a laughing Electrode appears on their screen to taunt them.
He's just complimenting your newfound freshness, that's all! He doesn't do anything new until level 20. Also, the white counter is a penalty that appears when the "in-control" team loses control of the zones. The value is approximately how long (pointswise) they had the zones in control for.
So the longer you have control of the zone for, the more you get penalized when you lose it? That doesn't sound very fair.
I'm so sorry I didn't come over here and let everyone know sooner, but Gamestop has 3 pack Splatoon amiibos for sale. They might be gone by know, but I thought I might still let everyone know.
I gave the Dynamo Roller a shot in Turf War, and despite how slow it is to "fire", I can actually see the point in using it over Krak-On Roller. I mean, it can splat enemies down with one hit from an appreciable distance. Still, I didn't face anyone with a charger-type gun when trying it out, so I expect I'd be a sitting squid for them even more so than with the K-OR.
Dynamo Roller players are the ones I fear the most, at least on Blackbelly Skatepark and Port Mackerel.
Hey guys! Do you know if "swag" is patented or coined or something like that, because I'm gonna call my Inkling
(on the next line you will see the most creative name in the world..)
Swagling!! So yea, is swag patented plz tell me
@Xyphon22
It's meant to encourage comebacks in a game, so one side doesn't entirely dominate throughout the whole match.
Yeah, maybe "penalty" isn't the best choice of words. It's really there so that the other team is still in it at nearly all times.
I've never played another shooter with the same kind of system but I really enjoy it! I could be losing 100-10 right from the start, but if we manage to cap the zone before they get 0, some additional time of maybe ~75+ gets tacked on and my team gets a second wind. And on the other hand, even if you're dominating, you really have to play hard until your time hits 0.
The map rotation system is asinine. My favorite level is Port Mackerel but I haven't been able to play it for days. It needs to coincidentally be in the rotation exactly when I have time to play. And even if it is, it's randomly selected and there's a good chance I'll end up playing the other level that is in the rotation over and over and over. I played for an hour on Saturday when Port Mackerel was in the rotation, but I only got to play it ONCE.
I hope they address this problem in the future. We should be able to select the level we want to play. No more rotation, have all maps available. No more random assignment, let players vote like in MK8. Or alternatively, restrict the selection to two at a time, but rotate it after every match.

Turf war and ranked always have different maps though, so with only 6 maps there's a high likelihood that one of them will be the one you like. Unless of course you only like one of the modes, then that doesn't really help
Supposedly when there are more maps they'll be in groups of 3 for rotation instead of 2.

Naming a game character after something protected by copyright/patent is not infringement. You can name your character Lego, Coca Cola, Harry Potter, IGN, or whatever.
I do have an inclination to hunt down people with "swag" in their name and splat them, because they deserve it. - Classy old mid-twenties guy.

Yeah I only play Turf War for now. Ranked battles seem too stressful / frustrating.. But now that you mention it, the black area showing the level selection does seem to be big enough for three levels, so I bet they are planning to have 3 in the rotation in the future.

Ah, understandable, it can be very frustrating if your team has no idea what they're doing. Managed to get up to a B now after a good run, it gets much more fun in the higher ranks, everyone is good so the matches are always close and hardly ever knockouts.
I want to like the charge-type weapon, but it actually requires accuracy...if I could stand the motion controls, it'd probably work great for that, but I can't so...I just gotta aim better.
Actually, it requires more than just accuracy, now that I think about it. You need good timing for your charges, too - both for your range and power. You also need to know when to fight and when to run...Damn...guess I'll give up on that weapon for now...

You can turn the motion controls off and the key to chargers is location, stay far away or high up with an escape route inked and remember they are ranged weapons so when the other team are trying to hit you they wont be able to as by the time they are finally close enough you've already shot them. The only time you should run with a charger is when you're outnumbered, in which case use the runaway path you should of set up before hand.

When you're not yet good at aiming I suggest to first shoot ink in front of them so that they either get stuck or prevent them from moving towards you. You also have this other charge weapon which has limiting range but it chargers way faster. I found that good for practicing.
It can be quite frustrating though if your team has no clue whatsoever.
Basically, the singleplayer went from my focus to "the thing I'll do a little of between major multiplayer sessions".
I felt the same, but after being on teams overwhelmed by people w/ aerosprays on the other team I decided to get 1 of my own. And the 3rd area in single player is better than the multiplayer, though the boss is lame. Haven't played 4 or 5 yet but I'm planning on doing that next, really curious to see the end credits every body keeps talking about before somebody spoils it for me on Miiverse. I really hope they take some of those ideas and put them into multiplayer. Well turf wars anyway, I can imagine the hardcore ranked battle guys saying it wasn't right for competition.

Yes, they will. The first press preview in March at NoA had 3 maps in that list.

3 maps in that list will be nice if only to help break up the monotony. Well at least statistically speaking we should be be less likely to get 4 in a row of the same map. Feels like I rarely change maps, much more 4 in a row, 4 in a row, than 1,1,1,1. Choosing from 3 could mean we rarely get the same map more than 1 or twice in a row to help keep things fresh.
Though it could make weapon selection that much more difficult. Which I suppose could be a good thing?
For all those who want to select their own map - and really, who doesn't? - picking just 1 weapon and continually playing the same map over and over would really make the game too lopsided towards those who spend 12 hours a day playing this. Random maps at least gives the appearance of keeping things a little more balanced. Just think how people will feel who pick this game up in August when the big update comes? I rarely if ever buy games Day 1 but decided not getting this Day 1 meant my kids and I would be on the wrong side of the learning curve.
