Ha, @Grumblevolcano, I just posted that over in the amiibo thread. I really wish we had a "new thread for new news" policy around these parts — I mean, is this Splatoon news or amiibo news?
haven't been able to play for some weeks because my tv broke. Today I got a new one and tried to play Splatoon and got sick! What happend with the speed of the game? Seems like movement speed and so on have been augmented? Or is it just me getting bad after that long a break?

No that's totally normal after a long break.
When XCX came out, I didn't play Splatoon for several weeks. Then one day me and a friend (who was also playing XCX) switched back to Splatoon and both of us couldn't cope with the speed of Splatoon. It was because Splatoon runs on 60fps (and is a really fast-paced game) while XCX runs at 25-30 fps (my guess). It took me only 2-3 matches (because I already had hundres of hours of playtime, he didn't) to readjust, but my friend needed more time to acclimate and actually had to temporarily turn down the motion sensitivity.
This week, I hadn't played since the Splatfest (Sunday) and then last night played a few matches. It was similar, the game felt too fast and I didn't quite have the right feeling with the Gamepad. But it quickly went back to normal after one match.
But if you haven't played for weeks, maybe you've missed the 2.6.0 and 2.7.0 update? Both were game-chaning, there were really tons of changes (more than usual) that impact almost all the abilities and the weapons. They're too much to mention here, you should definitely take a look at them. One of the ability changes is: Opening gambit gives you ~ 3x times faster run and swim speed for 30 seconds. So in case you had a opening gambit hat on, that may also explain it. But I'm pretty sure it was just the long weeks of not playing.
Well today kinda sucked. A fantastic winning streak got me to S+, but a losing streak put me down to 0 within the Rank. No idea how it happened, I can only blame teammates goofing around for a couple of the matches I had...
I'm sure I'm not the only one here who had to put up with something like that in their Splatoon life. Guess I'll stick to squads for now...

Trust me, you're not the only one with those problems. I've had people jump off the edge repeatedly, paint ALL the walls, etc., and I know Kazuo had a teammate once that's name was literally "person who watches". I always question why people do this kind of stuff in rank battles... especially in S/S+ ones! Better question is how did they got to that rank in the first place! XD I know they're just goofing around, but rank isn't the place to do it, with other people's ranks on the line, in my opinion.
I've not played a normal ranked battle since I ranked up to S+, since I was tired of teammates like that. (And like you, I had a great luck streak in SZ to rank up, and didnt want to go through it again. XD) I'm sticking to squads as well for now, since I know that I can rely on anyone on this site.
If you do try more normal ranked battles, best of luck, Dreamy!
okay , so today i decided to reroll some gears in order to create a full speed set , after spending all my money (around 1 million) and all my super sea snails (27) i ended up with the following :
super swim speed
hat:(swim speed up) , 2 swim speed up , 1 ink saver main
shirt:(swim speed up) , 3 ink saver main
shoe:(ink resistance up) , 3 swim speed up
super run speed
hat:(run speed up) , 3 special duration up
shirt:(run speed up) , 2 special duration up , 1 run speed up
shoe:(ink resistance up) , 3 run speed up
I still have around 300000 coins , and was considering trying to get 3 damage up sub on the captain hat that already has a damage up main ( you get it at level 50) what are the chances of that happening and do you recommend it ? i mean I've been saving up money and sea snails for these rolls and i luckily got them, but if possible i would also like to get this cap ( saw it with these abilities on many snipers )
