@TheXReturns: I created a room. @Blue_Blur: Ooooh, I see what you were talking about earlier . That was dumb of me. @TheXReturns: Lol, I haven't won since the matches with Blue-Blur and Megapokepaul.
@Nicolai You're a better player than you think you are. We virtually had two of those matches. Just unfortunate disconnects, that's all. XD Good games anyway.
After three grueling days (but they've been fun), I finally recovered from C+ to a B. This took so much work on my part and I know that means very little to most of you since you're masters at this game, use motion controls and reached S rank, but to me, this is a huge accomplishment.
Still, the only way I can be even decent in this game is to turn motion control off (I have no idea how people bear to use it it) and use the Kraken Roller. It's the only weapon in the game I like since it requires no aiming and aiming in this game is extremely hard to me.
Using motion controls is like riding a bike, it's kinda hard to learn at first but it feels more natural than using training wheels. Which also applies here since the dual stick controls feels pretty sluggish compared to playing the game with motion controls, though playing the game without motion controls is doable.
@Rexcalibr I think I've said this, but I don't use motion controls either, and yeah, Rollers are probably our best 'stick' weapons. You might want to invest in some Damage Up abilities - only about one main's worth, but it actually extends the sweet spot for the OHK on the Splat and Krak-On rollers, making it a lot easier to splat people. From talking with other Roller users, people generally either prefer the normal or the Krak-on, but are good with both, so it might be worth experimenting about a bit?
I think DreamyViridi can actually use a charger with stick controls, but I have no idea how he does that. XD
Back to S+. This time took a lot more due to all the connection errors I got.
@Rexcalibr: Hey, congrats! I'm sure you'll be getting better over time, don't give up! Oh and you should give gyro controls another chance, they're one of the most intuitive control schemes I've used in my life. Just try to find the right sensitivity.
@Freeon-Leon: Yay, congrats again! Now let's see how long you can last until you stop back to S (hopefully never lol).
I'm currently S rank... I imagine of I get to S+ I'll retire from Splatoon... maybe. Ok no but you get the point
@Vee_Flames: This is like my 4th time reaching S+. I even got to S+ 60 once!
But I don't care that much when I drop to S. That just means I'm still not good enough to be in S+, even if I dropped to S- I'd be fine with it. Rank is just an indicator of how well you're playing. If you're good enough, you'll stay in your rank.
@TheXReturns: It just took an awful lot of practice, still does but getting splats with Charger snipes is very satisfying! It's all for fun for the most part, I wouldn't dare try it in Ranked battles unless I was squadding with someone.
Speaking of Ranked... a couple of days ago. I was so close!!

@DreamyViridi nice! It sometimes takes several tries. In my last few matches to S+ I lost whenever I was one win away from it until 99 when I finally made it over.
I know there are some, (although few I think) good non-gyro charger users. I'm definitely not one of them haha.
I think I was doing some charger 1v2 with @PikminFan22 and @SheldonRandoms one day and I was still winning for the most part so I tried to give myself a handicap with motion controls off, I did horrible haha.
During the global testfire I had motion controls on the first round and like most people it felt weird and took some getting used to, but in the second day we had it I turned them off and it just felt so off since I was already kind of used to motion controls. I've kept them on since then.
Despite using motion controls, I actually play several shooters with dual sticks though.
Anyone up for some Splatoon? It's kind of been a little bit since I last played.
@Kazuo: I remember the same happening to me when I was aiming for S, A+ 99; what a tease.
Control schemes are down to preference, I think. Sticks and Motion controls both work overall, although motion Chargers can probably do a better job. Either way, Chargers have the highest learning curve; it takes time and understanding to get a general idea of how to play with one.
I tried it at first and had a rough time so I kinda gave up but then I see good Charger users getting the splats and generally doing work which motivated me to keep trying (even though I play with dual sticks). Now, the Kelp Splatterscope is one of my top 3 most-inked weapons.
I'm not able to play right now since I have voluntary work tomorrow and need to prepare for it.
