He did say "at this time" so maybe we'll get it later on the Wii U. I hope we do. A Wii U port of RE5 would be nice to. Also, where did you get the "probably get a light gun game" from. It doesn't say anything like that in the article.
Meant annoucment. I know the whole cloak and dagger thing is supposed to be to guve us a major blow out at e3 and blow our socks off but it seems like quite a gamble of juggling 3ds and wii u in 70 minutes. There's a reason why companies like microsoft and apple have things like ces, build, and wwdc to get people prepared before the main blowout.

How is this shocking? I certainly wasn't expecting all the big releases this winter to also make it to Wii U. I expect that only select devs have the kit at the moment, so most general projects won't come on board until a year, and only if the install base looks worth it for their particular needs.
Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense. Wii FC: 8378 9716 1696 8633 || "How can mushrooms give you extra life? Get the green ones." -
Shocking news is forum scarsam for stating the obvious.
Also no hope for a E3 reveal. The director pretty much confrimed its not coming.
"Wii U is kind of a special case," said the Resident Evil 6 director. "The way the player interacts with the device is very different than any other device out there. So if I were to make a game for the Wii U, it would have to be a unique game."
Even then, the MT Framework engine is still compatible with theWii U,saysSasaki. The issue isn't with the game's engine, but rather what seems to be Sasaki's desire to create a unique title centered on the Wii U's capabilities. That's good toknow, because the last thing we need is a wacky Wii U port of what could be a great game on other consoles. If Sasaki wants to tinker around with the upcoming Nintendo console's hardware to deliver an intriguing and unique game, that's a much better idea than a port.

i can't believe they'd pass up the opportunity to get the launch sales for a new system. they seemed really eager to get in early on the 3DS, at least. if they port an improved version over, like re4 wii, it won't be so bad, but if they don't port it at all then that's terrible for nintendo. it's the wii's 3rd party situation all over again before the system has even launched.

Well, the 3DS was offering something really innovative and lucrative (3D that doesn't require glasses? On a handheld at that? Sure sounds like a good idea at least), and therefore bound to have a lot of early sales (at least in theory). The Wii U is more iffy (a Tablet controller for a video game system...what are we supposed to do with that?), so there's less of a chance the Wii U will do well early on. (note that this only from a marketing and development perspective. I could see RE actually benefiting from a Touch screen. Perhaps they're waiting until they can base an entire game around it instead of just a port?)

the director seems to want to do that. spending time to make the best use of the controller would probably make it a more unique game than a direct port. personally i just want to play it re4 style with the wiimote. i've yet to see a game on wii u where i'd actually want to go back to dual analog for the sake of a touchscreen. based on the 3DS RE games i don't see the touchscreen offering enough to give up IR aiming.
I don't care about graphics. Let me writing you a paragraph about how much I like graphics.

You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
because its not coming for the wiiu looks like it will be the ps3 verson for now, aint getting it for the 360 unless they did a themed console bundled with the game, then i 'll play it get the full gamer score or whatever sell it then get the ps3 version as intended thats only if they did that otherwise ps3 copy it is
It'll come to the WiiU eventually. Capcom ports everything everywhere, no worries. Epic Mickey 2 surprised me though, but it's not like it's a big loss. The first games was bad IMO and the second one is coming to the Wii anyway.
Yeah.Azsic resident evil is dead. Revelations was an experiment to seeifit "would work and that game bombed hard. Well see when thedemo RE6 demoxhitz July.

If they make a special WiiU Resi it better be fixed camera angles non over the shoulder ditch the alien BOWs go back to zombies n Nemesis type enemies remove the chapter episodic progression and constant escort/team mechanic it should be a winner. This won't happen but I can only dream.
