I think everyone at this point has already got there too. We're just having fun playing Scrabble, man.

I have to agree. A well-made remake is nice once and a while, but I don't want it to become the norm. I buy new systems to play new games.

Sketchy rumour, indeed. Just trying to play the guessing game from the list of asterisks on the reveal.

Except, we're still getting new games. These alleged remakes would just be icing on the proverbial cake. And if you don't want to buy them again, then don't. It's not like Nintendo is your grandma who's made a batch of cookies just for you and now is staring into your soul, waiting for you to devour her culinary children. There are other people who would gladly nom on dem (metaphorical) cookies. So, relax, and enjoy the games.
If you can't already tell, I haven't eaten breakfast yet.
While this rumor does sound pretty sketch, I have to admit that this would be a pretty neat idea.
I foresee what you'll do there.

As long as the remakes don't hinder development on the original titles, this would actually be pretty neat. If Super Mario 64 is remade in that way, then I would likely buy it ASAP. Hopefully, there will be retail versions of these possible remakes.

I think Nintendo will outsource these reUmagined games to other studios... Majora's Mask could be outsourced to Grezzo! It makes perfect sense!
I don't think 64 remakes would be on the table, mostly due to Virtual Console. GameCube and Wii games could see HD remakes, like Wind Waker. Also maybe some HD remakes of DS games. I wouldn't mind if they remade Metroid Prime Hunters for Wii U with HD graphics, online multiplayer, and a more traditional control set-up (while allowing for the touch screen controls and possibly Wii Remote Nunchuk controls) to test the waters for a new Metroid or other FPS.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I'm skeptical to be honest. Turning a Nintendo 64 game into a Wii U game with HD graphics is just not a matter of redoing textures in a higher level of quality, you'd also need to remake all the basic 3D models and level geography to make them look good with said textures. Otherwise you end up with... well, something a bit like this:
Looks okay, but a bit underwhelming because of how the basic models aren't detailed enough at all.
And things like co-op multiplayer and extra game modes seem highly unlikely for ports in this sense. Especially if Nintendo's plans are to get these games released quickly.
