Nintendo screwed up by going with Power PC. There's nothing stopping the current crop of games to come to the Wii U but porting from X86 to Power PC is something no developer will do to keep costs down. Its much easier for the developers to just focus on the PS4/Xbone/PC versions of each game.
AFAIK, the Wii U architechture is nowhere as complicated as the PS3's for example.
Heck, porting from x86 to PPC is a lot less problematic than the other way round.

Not really. You can't put Xbox One and PS4 into the same category of game systems. You're talking as if their the exact same game system. That's not true. It doesn't matter how well Nintendo sold in the past year. All that matters is that Wii U has 4 million consoles in peoples home, and Xbox One and PS4 have around like 1.5 - 2 million each.
You might as well say 3DS is failing, because the PS Vita is the same thing as an iPad, which has more numbers combined than the PS Vita, by itself. BTW, that's a complete BS statement. I was just trying to give you an idea about what you're saying by categorizing the PS4 and Xbox One into the same area.
Also, what @AJ_Lethal is true. Devs could have either supported Wii U with 8th gen games a year ago, or ride out the entirety of what Xbox 360 and PS3 had to offer and wait until Xbox One and PS4 come around. The only reason why Wii U is getting ports from 7th gen, is bacause devs are figuring out how to port from 8th gen. You're ignoring numbers and how components work if you think Wii U is a incapable system.
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

I very recently learned that the gamecube did poor. Growing up, everybody i knew had a Cube and SA2 Battle, Double Dash, or Melee. I honestly feel like I never saw many PS2s at all until I was older.

The sad thing would be if as a result of the poor marketing amongst the general public the Wii U doesn't sell enough to survive. I would like to think that games are maturing as a media, which hopefully means that there is room for many types of experience. So as long as Nintendo sell enough Wii Us and 3DSs to stay in business and make Nintendo games, I'll be happy. There's no race they have to "win" and not every game has to sell x million copies because FIFA or COD does, just as every film doesn't have to be Avatar or every book Harry Potter (the analogy is not quite right but you get my drift).
Think Wii U lack of sales have become mostly myth now. Every store I've shopped at has been out of stock while I literally see Xbox Ones sitting there (no PS4's) though. But jeez, Nintendo is fine. The Wii U is awesome. People now are starting to have a reason to buy and are buying. Mario Kart and Smash look absolutely amazing. They just announced some cool new software. They have some of the best second party studios. NO ONE HAS BOUGHT A NINTENDO SYSTEM IIN THE LAST 15 YEARS FOR THIRD PARTY=) So let's chill and play games

You should call up npd and enlighten them with your anecdotal evidence.
Never mind the fact your local stores could be carrying hundreds of Xbox One's and just a few Wii U's.
I know! Isn't it funny how that happens? I personally had a PS2 during that generation, but a lot of my friends and roommates had Gamecubes and we had an absolute blast with the thing all the time. I only very recently found out that the internets considered it a failure - but at the time I just knew I had fun playing the games it had, so what else really mattered? Simpler times haha
The Wii U really is a great addition to the gaming community. It's a shame it gets such bad press from a large percentile of the gaming world. Sales figures do seem to be increasing as more titles are announced and released so touch wood this is the start of something good for Nintendo and the Wii U.
I would really like to see how it's doing in the Europe though as we seem to be the most oblivious to its existence.

I love Nintendo, Sony & Microsoft - why? I am a true gamer.

Well, poor advertising and lack of any truly spectacular game until Super Mario 3D World didn't help. 2014 looks to be the year though. Really strong lineup and there's also a possibility of a further price cut. At under $300 with Mario 3D World, DKC Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 and Smash alone, it's a good buy. If sales go up and even just one or two third parties, besides Ubisoft, start putting some effort into their Wii U games, it will look even better.
Should Wii U fail to hit its end of the fiscal year hardware sales target, which it most likely will unless iwata lowers it, I think another price cut down to $250 is likely.
