Hey guys I need to fix this, so I think that while I was having some issues with my internet at home my Wii U might have been updating something, because when I turn it on it doesn't pass trough the Wii U logo and the only way of turning it off is unplugging it.I might've lost my receipt and I don't know if there's some kind of digital warranty so having to send it for repairs is my worst fear right now.
Please help, I've got exams in 2 weeks and this is not a good time to be depressed....please.
Well, I'm pretty sure an update can only cause problems if you're installing it and it shuts off during the installation. If the Wii U is automatically downloading an update behind the scenes, and it loses a connection, it should be just fine. I had that happen once, and to fix it all I had to do was unplug the Wii U. Try unplugging it for about 10 seconds, (Do a minute if you want to be absolutely sure) and then try again. Also, Nintendo warranties last for a year, and I'm pretty sure all you need is your Wii U's serial number, which should be on your Wii U somewhere. If unplugging the Wii U doesn't work, just call Nintendo's tech support. I hope this helps!
If it is downloading, don't worry, you can safely turn off your console. however, don't unplug the system when installing the data. Purchased contents from eShop can be downloaded again with no additional fee as long as you don't delete your Nintendo ID from your system. To check your downloads, do the following:
1.From the Wii U Menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon and tap "Open."
2.Select "Menu" or press the Y button
3.Select "Profile."
4.Select "Your Downloads," and the type of content being redownloaded.
5.Tap "Download Again."
•If the selected content has a rating, it will be displayed on the screen. Select "Next" to continue.
6.Tap “Download Again.”
7.The download will begin automatically. Select "Continue" to return to the Nintendo eShop Menu.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

Had that same thing happen to me. Unplugged for some time but it still didn't seem like it was ever going to get past the logo. Thought it was bricked.
But then i just left it on, waited some minutes, did something else and the menu was there.
