Topic: Pikmin 3 and the Wiimote

Question about Pikmin 3, but you can play the entire game with just the Wiimote?

I know with the pro controller, it still forces use to utilize the gamepad in story mode, you literally can't beat the game without it (scrolling during the cutscene, etc.).

Just wondering, I might break out the Wiimote if you can beat the game stand alone with it.

As far as I'm aware, you cannot. The Wii Remote works the same as the Pro Controller in that regard. The GamePad is still used to display the map and play cutscenes.

The scrolling etc. is still done on the gamepad it works just as normal but the Wiimote + Nunchuck combo is the surperior way of playing.

I use Remote+Nunchuk for precision (though the update that allows for targeting with the pen might be as good) as well and rarely mess with the map except to set waypoints for other characters. You can't play this game efficiently without it - especially the bonus missions.
