Topic: Pikmin 3 - OT

Thank goodness for this game finally getting revealed, because otherwise Nintendo's press conference was a rather dull one.

The game looks absolutely amazing! For those worried about Purple/White Pikmin being dropped, here is an excerpt from the Nintendo e3 website:

In addition to the five original types of Pikmin encountered in previous games, the new Rock Pikmin bring powerful new abilities and are able to crack hard outer shells of enemies and break through solid barriers.

Also, there is another new Pikmin, the pink flying Pikmin that can clearly be seen at the beginning and end of the trailer. Overall I am so excited for this game although I'm a bit disheartened by the fact that its only listed as a "Release Window" title and not a launch one...

No freaking way, my friend made up the idea about a pink colored Pikmin that can fly. I've got to tell him this!

So I wasn't the only one that caught that...lol. I wonder if that's another new Pikmin or just some Pikmin-looking enemy, lol

Yeah, I was a little surprised that they made a point of talking about the Rockies, but not the flying Pikmin, which I thought were pretty noticeable. Maybe some hands-on previews will be able to go into more detail about them?

And wow, the video quality for the trailer on Nintendo's E3 site is much prettier and cleaner than the what I saw on Spike TV's live feed. Just beautiful.

I need to go to their site and look around now, forgot all about that. xD

Can't wait for this game. I did see pink flying pikmin. I hope purple white pikmin are in the game too. I'm also sensing online co-op perhaps? Plz!

So excited! Can't wait, I hope each of the 4 characters has a unique aspect to them. I hope we see even more new Pikmin (i hope we can use the pink one). I hope we get some complex puzzles now that we have to manage 4 characters.

I don't understand the point of the 4 characters. When you have 4 characters, it makes everyone think its co-op 4 players, but its just a single-player game.

Another thing, what do you guys think happened to Olimar?
I'm wondering if that's an actual story in the game, or just Miyamoto's way of saying "We switched him out for some change, no reason"

Definitely the best trilogy ever.

Maybe he's promoted to president of Hotocate of whatever company its called (I forget, lol) and the new characters are his employees.

I also wondered why 4 characters? It seemse like a lazy way to add more complexity to the game but first I gotta play to see how well this mechanic works on the actual game.

I'm hoping 4 characters means online and local drop-in/drop-out 4-player co-op through the main game plus all modes.

But my cynicism tells me it means 4-player local co-op only in the challenge/versus modes.

Pikmin 3 was, undoubtedly, the highlight of Nintendo's conference. Nothing else was that good (save possibly Lego City Undercover).

After watching so many different fanbases see their long wished-for sequels become a reality over the years, it feels nice to finally be the one getting the game I've most hoped for!
