Oh good, we can get confirmation of what we all expected when they revealed the game. That said, I hope it's enjoyable in some capacity. I found Sticker Star to be the most dull Mario game I have ever played.
Just your friendly reminder that TTYD had a bigger Toad gathering than anything we've seen in Color Splash, and that we've generally seen more Shy Guys than Toads. But of course, it's not cool to hate on Shy Guys, only Toads. So keep beating that dead Yoshi, folks!
Oh, dear. Or is that not an OK thing to make fun of either?

This screenshot might kill you of happiness http://i.imgur.com/EO4oeys.jpg Yes, it's a Morton card, it means that Morton will battle with you and take damage for you in the battle where it's used! It also means that Koopalings Cards are in this game!
I have been watching Crunchii's let's play, and yes it looks really fun.
Though it is a bit sad to see all these different personalities and interesting characters with little to distinguish them from each other besides the color of their caps.
Ancient sage? Toad.
Crazy professor? Toad.
Ghost? Toad.
Old person? Toad.
Young person? Toad.
Pop idol? Birdo <-real spoiler.
The same goes for most other things. Everything is a recolor of a basic Mario enemy or npc.
...I miss the old Paper Marios because of that, now it seems Toad is the only character Nintendo thinks we care about. Also sick of the Koopalings at this point...

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Joeynator3000 Not really defending the abundance of Toads here, but I've been doing a lot of spoiling myself and the Toads definitely have an air of personality around them. Not to mention the game is actually pretty funny and random in a lot of places. I was thinking about saving this game for Christmas but I think I'll be picking it up sooner rather than later...
Oh, but I don't like the fact that Thing Cards seem to be mandatory if bosses are to be beaten. That's rather very dumb, but whatever. That, and the fact that the game doesn't run at 60fps.

Counting out the Dr. Mario titles as they don't have many spin-off characters and of course all the games that don't have adult Mario, you can still see that he's been in less than 50% of the Mario games released since NSMBW. And the Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros. puts him among the main characters of the Super Mario series:
Really, as I said elsewhere, the numbers clearly tell a different story from the popular opinion of him and his siblings being in every game.
Again, I think it's not a problem of numbers, it's more of a problem of how they have been used (pretty badly in the NSMB series, with Larry's model and animations from NSMBW being reused in NSMB2 and NSMBU, useless in SSB4, as they didn't even bother having proper body proportions for them, as well as many unique animations). It doesn't help that developers don't seem to be able to pull a Mario & Luigi: Susperstar Saga anymore and put original bosses/original characters and the Koopalings in the same game. I can understand this in the competitions-based spin-off titles, but in the rest...
