As I stated in other news articles, if there is a reason why I love Nintendo is because they are Nintendo. I don’t want them to act like Microsoft or Sony, or even operate the same way than many 3rd Party developers. In retrospective, it’s the same exact reason why I loved Sega back in the 90s: they were Sega, not a Nintendo clone. The same can be said about their franchises.
To me, I would rather see variety than monotony. While Microsoft, Sony and most 3rd Party developers bring things to the table, Nintendo does that too, and I sure as hell appreciate that. I don’t want to see a market overcrowded by shooters or sandboxes: I want variety. It’s always good to enjoy different games and not just play what’s on the trend. On Nintendo’s case, their franchises will always be there, and they will be there for Nintendo newcomers and veterans alike, right at their disposal.
Also, if you are a gamer, you wouldn’t stick with just one console: you would get at least two consoles / one console and a PC to catch up with most of the releases. As a Nintendo fan, I am aware I will miss plenty of (not all, remember this) 3rd Party games on the Wii U and the 3DS. I am also aware both systems aren't beefy consoles compared to their competitors. But on the other hand, I know for a fact they will provide me with a very good collection of games for both systems. And you know what’s so great about this? These games, in most cases, are guaranteed to be really good. That’s all I need from Nintendo and the occasional 3rd Parties. Plain and simple.
Last but not least, I don’t understand why people feel upset about Nintendo being different. If right now they operated just like the other two big houses (MS and Sony), Nintendo would be in big trouble. It’s about time people should understand Nintendo’s approach is different and no way in hell they should change for that matter. To understand Nintendo’s approach to the industry, I think I should leave this well-written article from NeoGAF right here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=595561 This should leave many questions answered and doubts cleared.
@Kaabiitorori Wow, that was a beautiful comment. I wish I could give you a handshake right now. You pretty much summed up the situation, man. GREAT. JOB.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
Yeah, I don't think a lot of gamers "get" Nintendo. Like not even a lot of their diehard fans get it. And even if you don't like their decisions, I think anyone with any real respect for gaming should have some respect for Nintendo for its complete refusal to just be like anyone else in the industry.
