I was thinking about the NFC capabilities that the wii u might have and i was just wondering what you guys would like to see or think will happen with it.
I have to echo what @BenAV said. Kinda hard to think of many ideas for it, but that's what Nintendo and the developers are there for. I've got one idea though: what if they sold Pokemon figurines that you could set facing each other on the touch screen, and then see them battling each other on the big screen?

They're now doing downloadable retail games so here's a crazy idea. Sell figurines or whatever that have a "code" to download a game built in as well as some cool little extras or something. Go to the shop, buy a Yoshi, take it home and put it on your Wii U tablet. BAM! You start downloading Super Mario Galaxy 2. A different way to buy games.
Would work particularly well with VC games I would think. I'm pretty sure I'd buy a VC game I wouldn't have otherwise gotten if it came with a cool little figurine or a cool little figurine if it came with a VC game.

I'll not lie. I would buy every single one of those. Even if it was a game I didn't like.
But yeah, the potential for Skylanders-style games is where it's at for me. Or CCGs. CCGs are awesome on the iPad for a reason, they'd be even more awesome if NFC was built into the game structure so people could buy the physcial cards too.

I like this idea 50 billion times better than selling figurines to unlock on-disc content. And it avoids that whole code-entry process that Iwata himself said looked complicated at the recent investor conference. The only remaining bummer is that it'll take hours for the game to download (depending on the size of the game and your Internet speed).
