Here I'm gonna quote this awesome guy right here to counter your argument cause I'm tired, just pretend I said it.
Actually it's quite the opposite. Tri was released on Wii for 2 reasons: 1) Wii had the biggest install base. 2) It was the easiest/cheapest console to develop for. It was a business decision.
Compared to PS3, both statements will be wrong with Wii U. Capcom will do the same analysis with MH4 and go PS3. It has a 50+ million head start on WiiU and they already know how to develop PS3 games.
Putting anything on the bottom screen besides the main action is going to cause you to take your eyes off of the main screen. In a MH game, thats just asking for a KO. You can't take your eyes off the Monster if you expect to survive. And the controller, it just looks uncomfortable. and the placement of buttons looks waay off to me
I'm sure it could work in some way, and I'll support it if it ever does. But theres no way Capcom is going to do MH4 on Wii U. It will just sell so much better on teh PS3, and the Wii U controller would be difficult to make the game work. MH5 maybe. PS3 first, then years down the road Wii U. Well I don't hope so but yeah.

Yeah but...well, yeah PS3 does have a huge install base already and all, but the audience for a MH game on PS3...I just don't see it. The only times I see people playing on their PS3 are always accompanied by Call of Duty or Battlefield or [Insert any other FPS here]. So yeah the install base is there but that same install base is only interested in CoD...or the majority of it is anyways.
I think since the majority of Wii players at the time MH3 was released were casual(and still are), they looked at MH3 as real option for a game to buy for their Wii, Whereas a PS3 owner would have just went right passed it and go for another FPS (this thinking is based off of personal experience when I used to work down at gamestop, which was not that long ago).
And about that controller.....well Maybe that guy is a bit noobish. Having to die from looking down for like 3 seconds sounds kinda...like bs (no offense to your friend). Regardless, You don't have to use that controller when playing MH. I mean, yeah you could use the Wiimote to play MH3, but there was also the option to play with the CCP (which in my opinion is waaaay better). There was even a frekkin bundle pack that had MH3 and the CCP.
Don't take this the wrong way my friend, I'm not trying to be against the idea of MH on PS3, I guess I just see it differently than your friend you quoted. I'd definitely like to be dead wrong Cause I needz to play mah Monster Hunter

so why not have a monster hunter 4 on the wii U and just use CCP controller? i think that would be good enough for most players. The CCP controller is the same as the ps3 controller its just a little different. and im sure lots of "hardcore gamers" might try the Wii U and monster hunter would probably live a long time. but i wouldn't care if they made it for the psvita either.

Yeah I don't see myself dying by looking at the controller for 3 seconds either...the only time I look at the map anyway is when I'm waiting for a monster to appear is in a free hunt/harvest tour or when I'm watching to see where a certain monster is heading off to. (flying wyverns, you know...lol)

What a ridiculous statement to make. You're talking about the same PS3 that has more JRPGs than any other TV console this generation by a considerable margin. The same console that's getting Dragon's Dogma. The same console that got the proper version of Final Fantasy XIII.
The people in Japan don't play many FPSers at all. And the Monster Hunter series is made for the Japanese audience first and foremost.

It doesn't even have to be MH 4, It could be like MH 3 1/2(terrible name), or something.
First off, I think you got the PS3 fanbase confused with the x360. All MH games made so far have been on Sony consoles, and one has been on the Wii. Lots of people went out and bought a PS3 just because Capcom was rumored to be working on a MH for it. None of my many PSN friends play FPSs everyday, and I only own one FPS that I never play.
Edit: and what Waltz said
Second, who said anything about wii remotes? I didn't. The CCP may be the best controller the the Wii has, but it's crap compared to the x360 and PS3 controllers. Some cheap plastic shell that costs $20. I'd rather pay $40 or $50 for something wireless, heavier with rumble and stuff.
Finally, 3sec is a long time to look away from MH when you're fighting something like Tigrex or Barioth. Enough to die. You should try it.
sorry if I'm incoherent today, I'm full of laughing gas from having teef pulled Dx
I agree with you @zezhyrule maybe nintendo can make a new controller thats actually decent, just for MH. but im going to assume most people dont really know how long 3 seconds is.. the majority of monsters are quick so those 3sec are crucial. I think the only monster that would be fine with the 3 seconds is a freaking kelbi haha so yeah veterans know what there talking about, when we need those 3sec. escpeicaly when your above hr 50 and you start getting the hard quests and the monsters take alot more damage than normal, so yeah

They don't need to make a new controller. You can use the CCPro which has all the input that WiiU Tablet has minus the screen, camera, speakers and microphone :3
Also, I can multitask fairly well. Zelda OoT is a good example because I know where my items are placed without looking at the screen and a quick tap with my thumb for items, menu tabs- it's all easy. I mean, if you're kinda slow and need to look at the screen, well.. Practice makes perfect.
@komicturtle92 have you ever played a monster hunter game? and if so, were you good? did you do all the quests in the guild? solo a white fatalis maybe?

@komic: Haha, you're one pretty awesome dude. Knowing exactly where all 25 of your items are without looking, when the order is switched around so much. (not counting your ammo if you're gunning)
And yes. You've said that exact controller argument before, and what I said still stands. Here, I'll repeat myself too.
A controller that's not just a plastic shell, completely wireless, has rumble. You know how awesome MH would be with rumble ;3
of course^ everyone knows that rumble is always better, im gonna take a wild guess @komicturtle. either you forgot about how many items there are, or you never played MH before

25 items? Easy. I tend to organize my items appropriately so all my potions are together when scrolling and the like. It surely wouldn't be hard. I haven't played MHTri in awhile (things came up to be spending much time on that game anyhow), so yes, I forgot that there are 25 items you can carry at once (then again, I don't carry 25 items, just the essentials such as potions and the like). Either way, you wouldn't need to worry about selecting carvings and the like while in the heat of battle, so...
It all comes to the individual
If you have a good photographic memory and 'train' yourself to know where your items are located on the WiiU Tablet's screen, you'll have an easy time, surely.
As for rumble, I wouldn't mind a new controller myself. I'm just bringing up the fact that you can use CCPro, that's all.
sorry @komicturtle92 i got a little heated over this, but i still think it would be hard using the Wii U tablet for monster hunter. i wouldn't mind if you could plug the CCP controller into the tablet, then you would have a good controller and easy access to items. i always push select to organize my items in order, so it takes 5 mins to learn were all your items are and to be quick about using them. it might be hard for gunners or bowmen because you would have all your items and ammo.
P.S. my favorite weapon is the bow, and like i said before.. theres nothing like shooting a ranthalos in the head with a level 5 pierce :3

No prob. I prefer the Hammer. I think it'd be fun using the Tablet to aim at the screen and zoom in at Rathalos' (I really hate that monster and Barioth) and shoot him. We'll have to see how MH WiiU turns out to really come down to a concrete conclusion. Sure Capcom will do an outstanding job with the controls on the WiiU tablet and optimize it.
