Topic: MONSTER HUNTER 3 ULTIMATE!

The Gunlance is amazing. In MHFU at least. It's all I used for the entirety of the village elder quests.

Except when I switched to a Bow for Plessy >_>

But sadly they kinda ruined the GL in MHP3 for me. It used to be pretty much just a Lance + shelling (and wyvern fire), but they gave it a completely new moveset and weird controls. I hardly ever touched the GL in MHP3 :/

Bows on the other hand, which I only started using because plessy hipcheck, are effing amazing.

I was thinking that this would be a great MH game for my 3DS, then I heard only the Wii U version will have online multiplayer. So now I don't know whether to be excited or not since I don't even know if I'll get a Wii U anytime soon. You can also play this game on the Wii, so I'm trying to figure out what's the big deal here.

this version was released as MHTriG in japan for 3DS. it has more weapons and monsters than MHTri

The extra 40-something monsters might be a bit of a deal. Also GunLances, Dual Swords, Bows, Hunting Horns (cough)... As I've said before, MHT was pretty lame and empty because they wanted to "start fresh from a clean slate" or whatever. Which is why it only had three big monsters from previous generations while MH2 had like all of the ones from MH1 xP They also took out the weapons that were too similar to each other... Taking out the bow was stupid though because it's as far away from any of the other weapons as possible. The gunlance/bow/dualswords were pretty much all I used in MHFU, and Capcom thought it would be a good idea to not include them in MHT! Of course.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Jinouga, Dobo, Hapuru, the bears, gunlances, dual swords, hunting horns, and Mountain Stream isn't in the Wii game, lol.

And don't forget Uru! Everyone needs some bunnies in their games.

i only played MH3 with the hammer. i just loved the gameplay that way!

if i buy this on 3DS i will definetly try out more weapons, but i think i will also use the hammer a few hours, because it is too much fun with that weapon^^

btw is it clear now that the 3DS-version wont have an online mode?

it would be a real shame. there are so many great games comming out around march next year that i maybe wont have enough money to buy this game, too.

There's really no excuse for the 3DS version not having an online mode. I would attribute it to laziness but they seem to be putting online multiplayer in the Wii U version?

..Yeah, I'm still calling laziness.

Doubt it, but who knows...maybe they'll have it use friend codes.

Well the 3DS version is just trip G which didn't have online either. I know on the capcom community forums they said they wanted to gauge the fan response and might add online like they did with the US version of CVT.

Yeah, no online for the 3DS version is just coming off as lazy or rushed. Guess I'll play this for a while on my own when the 3DS game comes out and when ever I get a Wii U I'll be a bit more competent for online. Assuming I enjoy the game and don't trade it in, but that doesn't seem likely right now.

I hope they just wait until March, unless I end up selling it soon, then whatever. xD

I guess they expect you to buy both games to use the WiiU one for online/big screen play and the 3DS one to have your game on-the-go and play with friends.

Wasn't it confirmed that 3DS users can play with WiiU users at the same time? That sounds cool too.

Expecting the tri servers to be shut down when the eventual port of monster hunter 4 or even ultimate is released for wii u.

Expecting to know a few months beforehand like with phansty star universe.

Yes 3DS users can play local multiplayer with WiiU users.

You know, it would be cool if there was a mode where the person with the GamePad could fight the people with the Wii Remotes as a monster.
