I made a roster for Mario x Zelda Kart...

Is it possible to turn of items in normal races in this game?

@Tobias95 - Why would you want to do that? You can set up a tournament with no items, I believe (could be wrong). However, normal on-line it's not possible to do that

How you enjoying, that demo?

I have not played the demo yet. I want to do that because last Mario Kart that didnt hate me with items was the DS version. Anfd it would be more fair without items

Sounds like you want a regular racing game rather than Mario Kart, since MK is all about item tactics. How about Need for Speed: Most Wanted U?

I think I might pick up both as I kinda want the limited edition for MK8.

IMO this MK8 is the most fair with items. Well... Most of the time. What!!! I give you a free SB demo code and you a'int played it yet? Stop what you are doing and play that for half hour.

Its nice if theyvare fair with the items, still not got over one time in the Wiigame I got screwed by blue shells so many times its not funny

I just wanted to let out my frustration with winning the first three races in mirror mode, in first place. The last race I'm in the lead for the first two laps, then in the final lap:

Blue Shell, Red Shell, Green Shell, and Red Shell.

In that order. In less than 10 seconds. So much fun, so much madness.

Imagine this:

Kirby x Mario Kart 8 - Kirby, King Dedede and Captain Toad

Then

Bayonetta x Mario Kart 8 - Bayonetta, Loki and Jeanne

I know this is another "vent out of frustration" post, but I'm sincerely amazed on how Mario Kart 8's online managed to get the worst out of me and ended up with a broken (but still somehow working) Wii U Pro Controller.
Mixing its asinine item distribution with overly-powered green & red shells and professional players is truly a recipe of disaster that will assuredly tastes very sour, especially because the whole chaos obfuscates so much the skill part of the game it essentially becomes a nonchalant over-the-top luckfest. The worst part of it is, there are many of these instances where I couldn't do anything to prevent myself from dropping several places down just because the action have gotten too hectic. So much for that game being touted to cater more on the hardcore gamers.
And there we go. I stopped having fun at this point, enough for me to rage quit and never touch on any room filled with professional players! And that is coming from a player who is fairly skilled at the game and on other Mario Kart games, using a Heavy Mii +Pipe Frame + Slim Wheels + Standard Glider combo.

Also, if you're playing and either the way you're playing or the results of the match are causing you to damage your controller, you obviously need a break. For Pete's sake, it's a game. This, coming from a highly competitive player. No use in wrecking a controller that sells for $50 MSRP.

@JCnator I totally get your frustration (although I haven't gotten to controller breaking levels of frustration yet). The item balancing seems very poor to me, how in the world can someone in second place get a crazy eight or triple red shells? But the worst is probably getting hit, and hit again, and hit again within seconds putting you somewhere way behind with no way of getting back in front. I really wish there was a fraction of a second of invincibility after getting hit with an item.

Yeah it can get annoying the item balancing. The worst thing is when you are in the top five and then get hit by a barrage of items knocking you down to like 10th and then getting nothing but mushrooms. Boy do I hate that.

The only item I don't really like is the lightning

@DefHalan Lightning sucks, but at least that hurts everyone except the person using it. So it doesn't really shake up the ranking.

@Tasuki Yeah, and mushrooms don't really help, because everyone else back there is getting mushies as well.

@Wouwter: Odd thing is whenever I get mushrooms and people are behind me they seem to get all the good items like Bullet Bills or red shells and I get a crappy mushroom which usually results in me coming in last then.
