I'm hoping Nintendo release WarioWare dlc for Mario Kart 8 at some point. Maybe they could include some kind of offer for owners of Game and Wario if such a DLC comes out. Just an idea of mine though.

Yeah. You'd think after including the Wario Bike, Nintendo would've used WarioWare characters to go with it. I mean, Ashley and 9-Volt would make more sense than Pink-Gold Peach and Baby Rosalina at this point.

1. I found out with some searching that those cups found on the disc have DLC in their file name....

I like the image, but too many red flags are going up.

The cup icons are supposed to be flat, if you look at the originals. No shading, no third dimension, just a simple 2D image.

The bob-omb, the coin, and the POW block (which doesn't exist in this game!) look like they were taken from the item roulette, slapped with a gold outline, and pasted into the icon. It's definitely fake, unfortunately.

EDIT: Also, if you look at the top of the originals, the icon is brighter and the colors are a little washed out. That's not apparent in the "fakes". Of course, they could be early images, but considering how prevalent the cup icons are in this game, I'd imagine they had the design nailed down early on in development.

SECOND EDIT: The lighting in the background is too different from the originals. Sorry, but this is screaming fake in my face. I would be more convinced if the original icons were shifted to the left and the new ones were added to the right. Here, it looks like they took an in game image and pasted the icons on each side. No dice.

@brewsky I'm pretty sure the point of the image was to show how extra cups fit in. I don't think that's a leaked image.

With all the changes to the game mechanics are brought, Mario Kart 8 is probably the best Mario Kart series so far and that is certainly the most unsightly Mario Kart thanks for the visual technology used and also the accompanying art direction.

Anyone else thought 'Electro drome ' was actually 'Electro dome '? Honestly, I've seen the name written out hundreds of times and yet have somehow managed to overlook that R. Didn't even know 'drome' was a word though, so I have that in my defence.

No wonder I couldn't find remixes of the track.

If MK8 gets DLC I won't be surprised but I will be happy

If Nintendo's going to do DLC with Mercedes, they're bound to do DLC with tracks and characters at some point

Smash 3DS comes out in 3 weeks for Japan, there's bound to be some kind of Nintendo Direct before then so maybe some future DLC announcement then if it's a standard Direct.

My prediction: August 28th for a Direct

They should have done a World release so it would make more since, but how would it make since now unless they want to give us all the details early

Because it's likely that once the 3DS version is released in Japan it'll be virtually impossible to avoid spoilers. It's been hard enough avoiding Hyrule Warriors spoilers and in general that game is much less hyped.
