1. Mario Kart Wii - This is a game that grew on me. I thought it was OK but the more I played it, the more I liked it. online was great before the awful hackers appeared. The track design was great, the music, the karts, bikes, characters. A great game. I always found funny how the more popular the game become, the more fanboys hated it. But nerds are that way. They hate everything that is "mainstream". Well worst for them.
2.Mario Kart 8. I have only played it for a the weekend but man what a wonderful game. I have yet to go online but so far it has been nothing but satisfying. Some tracks could have been better and there's too many babies and kids. But so far so good. Time will tell what place it will end up
3.Mario Kart Double Dash. I'l admit this has more nostalgia value than anything but I still enjoy playing it. I like the 2 characters by kart idea. Not so much about the special items though. The track design feels very simplistic but the speed compensates it.
4.Mario Kart 7. I love this game but I always felt it kinda rushed. I dont know why. It's very fun to play and has great tracks but the character selection it's very mediocre. Still good online though.
5.Mario Kart DS. Good tracks and stats. Never played it online.
6.Mario Kart 64. I have yet to understand why they keep saying is the best. The tracks feel empty and clunky and the physics are awful. it's still fun in multiplayer but not that much.
7.Super Mario Kart. hated the music. hated the Mode 7 eye soaring levels. HATED THE DRIFTING. Hate this game.
I really dislike battle mode in this one...the Yoshi's valley is about the only good one, all the others are just drive in circles doing lap after lap trying to find someone.
Bring a DLC asap with 4 original maps from MK64 + a few new arenas...for example a sphere where everyone is in the "zero gravity" mode with nothing but item boxes and just have an all out free for all. very little or no cover at all. would make for a pretty interesting battle
Good intense games tonight @BenAV! I'm still very new to online on this as those were just my 6-10 races but I think I held my own. I close the gap on that last race but you were just too far in front of me. I'll try to join up if I see you online again sometime soon.

You did really well, I was quite impressed.
Took out that nice win on Sunshine Airport after I stalled at the start, could never catch back up.
We were also neck and neck on Sweet Sweet Canyon... thought you had me for sure when I got blue shelled but I guess something must have hit you too.
The last race on Cloudtop Cruise though I actually stopped at the finish line so I could listen to the music.
Battle Mode is ok or maybe even better than what it has been because of the increased strategy. But only if you play with the GamePad and can see the map. When you don't you'll spend half the time trying to find your opponents which isn't very fun at all.

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions

Yeah, the map is essential in battle mode, they should have had an option to display it on screen.
I use the Pro Controller but I have my GamePad on the table in front of me so I can easily glance over from my TV.
Does anyone have those times where you're doing everything right, only to be bombarded with every item known to Mario Kart with no hopes of recovery? Get hit by one shell, or hit one banana, and it sometimes starts a chain reaction of pain that results in 12th place. How do you catch the leader with nothing to throw at him? Why does the person behind me always get Triple Red shells? When will the suffering STOP?

Get an item box and hope to get the Bullet Bill, just like in MKWii
Also, I do have those moments sometimes, but I manage to get a respectable position (the "win" song during results)

I find it really frustrating that it isn't possible to change character and vehicle/experiment with your setup once youve joined a lobby. Have to exit out each time
Also, does anyone know if there's an options menu to be found anywhere? Would love to turn up the music

At the very least they should do Like Mario Golf and let us save 3 set ups to change from. Just say use the shoulder buttons in the lobby to change from your 3 favorites.

That would be a perfectly fine way to do it Leaving good lobbies/players to change one's setup is kinda sad :/
It doesn't seem that MK8 has done much to help Wii U sales in Japan 350k units of software sold but less than 20k consoles. I was sure Japan was going to eat this up as there's been a lot of media coverage of big lines at stores with demo events.
I feel like if any of these tracks were in a previous Mario Kart game, people would give them a pass.
Just because each track doesn't blow your mind does not mean it's not a well designed track. The themes and visuals of some of these alone make them good tracks.
In the words of Iwata "Please understand, we can do whatever we want"

Just the continued growing trend away from consoles in that country. Doesn't surprise me in the least. Units sold however was very good for an opening week. Systems are all but almost dead in that country. Systems sold will do far better in the west.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
