ClockworkMario

Got an e-mail that my copy is now in mail. With any luck, I ought to be speeding along the walls by tomorrow.

Currently on the plate:
Mount and Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars
Chivalry
Super Mario 3D World – Finishing the last few levels.

Guys....just 4 more days...
I have the entire weekend off.

My phone is being turned off so nobody can call me.

Friday: Do all Grand Prix modes and get stars by my name.
Saturday: Race online all day.
Sunday: Post about it online and play some more.

I had over 400 hours of Mario Kart Wii online time. I'm prepared.

I'm going to do Grand Prix races with guests while we try to unlock stuff. When we're bored of that, we'll just back off an play some Versus matches or maybe even go online. Or maybe just pop in another game. X3 I could still use some help with SM3DW completion~

How does everyone except me have so much time?

Here's what I'll be doing launch weekend:

  • Friday morning: wake up early, so I can download it before school
  • Friday Afternoon: blast through all the GPs
  • Saturday: play lots of Time Trials, for practice
  • Friday 6/6: begin to experiment with online play
  • Saturday 6/7: get up really early, and play lots of online

I'll be using the Pro Controller.

In the year I've worked at my job, this will be my 3rd weekend off for Mario Kart.

I did not request it. I demanded it.

Im gonna use a mix of the gamepad and pro controller, but my plans are:

-Maybe download it before school, but if I dont download it right when I get home

  • Go through 50cc, 100cc,150cc, and mirror mode
Time trials to get stamps and 3 star every grand prix
  • then starts the massive online races, probably gonna put over 200 hours on this game. The worst part is I have to go through a week of school including the 30th to play it. But anyways im so hype! This is gonna be my main summer game. Im planning to main Toad, Shy Guy, and my fav Koopaling Ludwig! So pumped up to get my hands on it right now. 4 days!!!

Probably sticking with the GamePad, myself. Maybe try the Wiimote/Nunchuck set up. Probably avoiding motion controls. I grew up on MK64, after all. Not MKWii.

Mostly Pro Controller and probably the Wiimote/Nunchuk like UGXwolf. I wonder if shaking the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to do a trick are considered motion controls because that was pretty much the only thing that control setup did related to motion.

I plan on using the Wii U Pro Controller, i work in the evenings, and i have Friday nights off, so when i get home, i'm gonna stay up till at least midnight, purchase the game, and put the system in standby mode and sleep for at least a few hours, Hopefully i can sleep despite the excitement. I just finished my semester at my college, so i'm on break till i start my summer class at the end of June. Already got $40 on my eShop account after buying 2 $20 eShop cards with the money i got from selling some of my books back to my school. Can't wait.

So, what is everybody's controller preference for this game. Mine's probably pro controller.

Definitely the Pro Controller, it's just so comfy to hold.

I just plug mine into my Wii U when it's getting low on battery, the cable's easily long enough and just makes it feel like a wired controller.

I'll probably just rush into stores as quickly as possible on Friday and pick it up, since I never got around to making another pre-order after my first attempt at G2k failed. I'll probably use the gamepad mostly, but I'll use the Wii Wheel whenever I'm playing with my sister because I'm more used to motion controls than she is. (She's always used a GameCube controller in MKW)

I like makin' games!
Future Pinball games!
Petit Computer games!!
and SmileBASIC games!
Waiting for Kirby Air Ride 2. One day, it will come. One day...

I am not sure if I will prefer Wii Wheel or GamePad. Probably GamePad when I am feeling more lazy and don't want to move around. Defiantly going to have to do Wheel for Multiplayer, I have some friends that never understood my love for motion controls

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Ever wondered how many different possible combinations of drivers, bodies, wheels and gliders there are? If you were like me you may have initially imagined many thousands of combinations. After all there are 30 drivers, 26 bodies, 18 tires and 11 gliders. So technically that would make 154,440 combinations.

But if you look at the statistics (eliminating drivers and parts that are only aesthetically different), you actually only have 7 different drivers, 6 bodies, 7 tires and 2 gliders. That makes 588 combinations that are truly different in the way that they handle. And, in fact, that number is probably even lower since I didn't take into account the possibility that some of those combinations might create identical vehicles stats-wise. Still, though, that's a lot of combos to experiment with.

How certain can we be about this? For the longest time, I thought there were effectively three characters in Mario Kart Wii, then I found out that each character alters the stats of their vehicles in a unique way. Can we be sure, yet, that this isn't the case with MK8?
