The comment that they are busy working on the emulation for N64 is bunk. They can run on the wii u in a gimped mode so the Wii U is not something that is difficult for them to release N64.
In my opinion the reality is on the Wii they had a massive install base and that was a huge motivation to roll out tons of VC content and even Wiiware.
The Wii U has a small install base of mostly hardcore nintendo fans who will pay upgrade fees and such to buy the same game again. The Wii U virtual console is used more as a way to fill holes (droughts) in the Wii U software lineup. They are more motivated to get new VC content like the GBA stuff because they can charge more for it than they are in re-releasing stuff they already cashed in on the Wii for a fraction of the profit.
Sensitive people should not be on anonymous boards... I'd recommend you find some other place to hang out if you can't handle people being mean/sarcastic/making fun of you etc. etc. OP.
It's not about being sensitive, it's about common respect, I post on other forums and websites where mutual respect is valued. It's just not a good sign when the first topic I post about in a new forum I get called an idiot, ignorant or a troll, just not a community I want to be apart of.
well, people here are really tired of random trolls(they appear way too often)
it also doesn't help that these forums are full of hot blooded people and funny guys.
the funny guys here make random jokes at everything(don't take those in the wrong way they're not seriously trying to make you feel bad)
and the hot blooded people are, well, hot blooded, you know, "always on the edge" they can say some rude things but they aren't trying to be mean they're just too keen on defending their point of view at all costs

I'm sorry you feel that way, this really is a great community, if you hang around a bit longer and check some of the other threads I'm sure you'll see it. And if not them I'm sorry for making you feel unwantes.
Everything can change, but I'm never changing who I am
Long story short, you need to do more research before a big purchase, rather than rely on false promises that you read on the internet.
Also, to everyone here, we have a "Report" button for a reason. There is no need to be talking about other users in the manner discussed here. If you have an issue, let the moderators handle.
@ItsLuigiBrah I know you're frustrated right now, but I've got some good news for you.
I don't know if you can get Wii points anymore for Wii mode (which has lots of N64 games,) but you can get Star Fox 64 in Wii U mode for free once you register your Wii U and any other software (get a free warranty extension to boot IIRC.) You'll have enough coins soon to pick Star Fox 64 as your reward if you want. 160 coins for registering WIi U.
You'll need to go into Wii Mode for Skyward Sword anyway, you can't miss it. It's literally a Wii inside a Wii U (later model without GC support.)
Also, as for Wii and Wii U software to buy, may I recommend:
-Super Mario 3D World
-Mario Kart 8 (Done with Mario, I swear!)
-Pikmin 3
-Wind Waker HD (IF you haven't played the original, my favourite Zelda)
-Lego City Undercover (believe me on this)
You'll really enjoy these titles you can't get anywhere else.
Okay I never owned a Wii maybe that's why I feel burned...oh well. At least I picked up a copy of Skyward Sword, IGN said it was the best Zelda game ever made so maybe this will sooth my disappointment.
Well Skyward Sword is not the best Zelda game, it's still a great one. Don't trust much in IGN reviews, some are okay while some are overreacted.
I thought Skyward Sword was the best Zelda game. It's just an opinion. The motion controls are what made it the best for me, and I liked the graphics, levels, equipment system, etc.

hm.... my personal opinion is that the best Zelda is Minish Cap. unless it's strictly 3D Zeldas, then I agree mostly(OoT gets close because the backtracking in it is less annoying), because my sister annoyed me so much complaining how Skyward Sword is different from Twilight Princess when I was helping my cousin with it that I ended not liking Twilight Princess anymore(yes, she can be THAT annoying)

Minish Cap is my favorite 2D Zelda, followed by 4 Swords Adventures, LttP, and Link's Awakening. I could never really get into the Oracle games for some reason. My favorite 3D games are Skyward Sword, Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, OoT, TP...
On topic: The OP didn't do research, but can still play Wii VC and/or Wii games in Wii mode.

To the OP: get Okami. Seriously. Before you try anything else, give that game a go. If you still regret your purchase after that, just give up and replace the system. But I don't think you will...
it's hard to go wrong with a good game like Okami! but the OP might regret not getting a Wii for cheap if all the recommended games are Wii ones.

[This forum is very rude, don't think I'm going to stay here. Can't even voice a complaint without being taunted.
If you're not careful they will get you banned, like the "First Person Zelda" guy. Meanwhile, they can call you a troll and stupid — both directly and indirectly — without so much as a warning. Seriously, tread carefully.
In any case, you're not stupid. Just human. You bought something on impulse, like so many millions do on a daily basis, and now you feel disappointed. Don't worry, it happens. Just don't make a habit out of it (research is your friend).
When I clicked on something called this "Just purchased my Wii U, is there something wrong with it?" I expect to try to provide advice on a possible hardware problem with someones Wii U not read a rant about N64 not being on the eshop something with a little research he could have discovered before buying.
