When I clicked on something called this "Just purchased my Wii U, is there something wrong with it?" I expect to try to provide advice on a possible hardware problem with someones Wii U not read a rant about N64 not being on the eshop something with a little research he could have discovered before buying.

I can't help but chuckle at the idea that some games aren't appearing in a Eshop because of a dodgy internet connection.
The N64 games will come to Wii U eventually, so you have to be patient. Also, there are other games that you can play on Wii U like Mario Kart 8, The Wonderful 101, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and many more. The upcoming titles like Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Super Smash Bros., Splatoon, Devil's Third will help you justify your purchase.
Only two things required from you: Time and Money.

So I made a topic yesterday about picking one up, and I went out last night and picked up a deluxe with Mario Kart 8 and the pro controller. The issue I'm having with the eShop is that theres barely any games. I don't see any N64 games, and only a couple of the good SNES classics, the majority of games seem to be indie games I've already played on my PS3.
I know the system has been out for almost 2 years now so Nintendo has to have put out more than this but for some reason my system just isn't showing it. Is this a problem with my internet connection or the system itself? If it's the system I'll probably head over to Best Buy soon and replace it with a new one.
I feel your pain because I bought my Wii for VC, and I was satisfied at the beginning. But Nintendo has been dropping the ball on VC long before the Wii U came out, so don't be surprised that the Wii U VC library is abysmal to put it nicely. Really going retro is probably the best option. The VC just isn't worth it anymore.

@midnafanboy Actually from what I'm reading, people are just being real. When you're going to buy something, at least do some research. This isn't 1980 anymore and information is literally a click away. No excuses. Furthermore, people are just baffled that OP thinks that his internet connection or his Wii U has anything to do with the content in the Eshop. I honestly couldn't tell if that was a troll topic, or if the OP was just kinda uninformed and expected to be able to buy every game for every Nintendo console on the Wii U and was genuinely baffled and figured Nintendo Life would be a great place to make an account and ask this oddly worded question that left most of us wondering if it was serious or not.
My conclusion:
1) topic was failed attempt at concern trolling or brilliantly successful performance art trolling
2) topic was legit and TC was thinking this was an official Nintendo operated website?
