Topic: Just got to get something off my chest...

Hey guys. Rant alert! Okay, yeah a rant is coming... So, somethings been bugging my a lot lately, and I just got to talk about it somewhere. Now, I've always been a Nintendo fan (I would fit under the category of "fan boy" :P) and, yeah, there are a lot of people who trash talk on Nintendo, but I've always just been able to ignore them. However, recently there has been things that I just CAN'T STAND. So, the Wii U. I have it, and love it. It's tons of fun. the worst thing is that there's only a good few of games for it. (Which is to be expected, as it just launched.) Now, people blame Nintendo for this, but Nintendo is practically the only one who seems to be making games for the Wii U! People like Activision and EA almost refuse to develop/port games to the Wii U. Now, I couldn't care less about EA and Activision games, but, the fact that they're not making games means that the console is a "no-go" for fans of their series. Which means less sales, which means companies won't make games for it. Okay, lets go into something different. People were really upset about how the PS4 and Xbox One didn't have backwards compatibility. I wish there was a console that had full backwards compatibility plus a service where you could buy previous retro games.... Oh wait. The Wii U. Both the Xbox One AND the PS4 you MUST pay a monthly fee for internet services. Man that stinks. I wish that there was a console that would let you play online for free... Oh wait. The Wii U. Also, people constantly whine about the price of the Wii U, and how they want a price cut, but then go onto droll over the PS4. Wii U Deluxe set: $350 PS4: $400 Xbox One: $500 Another thing, people hate the DRM on the Xbox games, and how used games are frowned upon. Nintendo is all for used games, and sharing them. Okay, so back to the games. Nintendo has made, and is making a bunch of upcoming games. And people complain on how that they're not making enough games. How many games are Sony and Microsoft making on their console?.... Oh wait. None. (That I know of. Correct me if I'm wrong.) Okay, okay, okay, I'm sorry for ranting so much, but this has really been bugging me. And I'm sure that there's plenty of people who agree with me (hopefully). And I'm not say "oh Sony sucks and xbox is terrible". We (my family) have a PS3 and I love it! (Uncharted is the defiantly the best game of the console.) And the only reason I don't have an Xbox 360 is because of money. I'm fine with both PS4, and Xbox One. I'm just tired of everyone else not being fine with Nintendo. It seems like every time they do something, people will complain. Thanks for your time! (Also, Yesterday I saw a Miiverse post of someone who said "I just switched from Xbox to Wii U! Best choice in my life!". It made me happy... :D)

Guys I thought forums were supposed to be fun. I thought video games were supposed to be fun.

I was just coming back into the swing of NintendoLife, I don't want these "dissapoint -> argument -> SCAR Vs. anyone else" threads...

@TysonOfTime is right. I tell the newbies that NL is a fun place to talk at and hopefully that will be the truth. We just discuss and have fun, not argue and be ugly to each other. I encourage you guys to be kind and make discussing here fun so everyone can enjoy NL. Thanks.

@TysonOfTime, @Varia01: It wouldn't be fair to SCAR392 for me to ban him, if that's what you're asking...? he may be misguided and a bit argumentative, but he's broken none of our Community Rules. In that respect, he's been harmless so far.

Also, I'm tempted to say that a thread entitled 'just got to get something off my chest'... there's no way you don't know people are going to be having what could possibly be a heated discussion.

There isn't any extra hardware involved in getting a Wii game to run.

There you go, it's hardware Backwards comapatible, meaning it has Wii Tech inside, or at least uses similar enough tech to allow for Backwards compatibility. Also, Software compatibilty is not that reliable. They had software compatibilty on The PS3, but it only ran up to 80% of games, and not all of which ran that well. The Xbox 360 had Software B/C, too, but only worked with roughly 60% of Xbox games, many of which contained bugs.

No, I wasn't saying to ban him, you know what forums can have some debates. Your right, @theblackdragon. Harmless? Got it. I was just trying to make NL fun for all. I understand.

I've always thought forums were for communicating, whether you have "fun" or not. Communication doesn't have to be fun.

Am I having light-hearted pleasure or excitement when I say "me too" on a forum? Not really. Does that further support that forums are for communication?

Right. Debates are always possible in forums, so they are for communication, not always fun. Then I apologize about post #191.
