Miiverse is a terrible concept to begin with, and giving a company like Nintendo (aka someone with way too much of an obsession with controlling their public image) power over it makes it even worse.
I'm pretty sure Sakurai doesn't even look at them, he just post his stuff and leaves for the day.
Either that or this happens (only watch the beginning of this video):
"If you accept the expectations of others, especially negative ones, then you never will change the outcome."- Michael Jordan
āI am thankful for all of those who said NO to me. Its because of them Iām doing it myself.ā ā ?????
Definitely way too "safe", but at the same time older gamers have to understand nintendo's business model of being a family friendly company will overcome anybody's free speech so long as they're able to monitor it.

BACK MY PROJECT EVEN $1 HELPS!
oh wow, i actually decided to read that link x-x i dont know how sakurai does his job without going insane knowing so many of the "fans" of smash bros are like this.
if he was to announce that hes ceasing development and leaving the game industry i would not blame him.
Honestly, if I was him I would've outright refused working on this, I doubt any developer gets harassed by "fans" nearly as much as him. At the very least, I would purposely leave out any characters that I was constantly pestered by. I mean, he's not a genie for us to wish all our characters into reality, he knows what everyone wants by now... Well, I could rant about this more, but point is, looking at Miiverse, I don't blame him for how he trolls us sometimes, it's probably the only thing keeping his sanity. It's one thing to joke about characters with friends or even post ridiculous lists of what we want on forums, pestering the develop is a different story. >>

yea, your probably right x-x" still just bugs the heck out of me though
just a nintendo gamer on a nintendo related site (who wouldve seen that one coming?)
the random user name randomly became a Pikachu.
I mean come on. I didn't say something like you suck or get a life! all i said was no goku for smash bros 4. What's bad or harmful about that? This is why I've stopped posting for a while
Things like friendcodes NEED to be able to be shared. I got busted for giving out my Mariokart Wii code to my friend that I actually know and I got a warning! What is the harm in sharing friendcodes?

What probably happened was some jerk who thinks Goku is reasonable in Smash flagged you because they got mad.
For what it is I think it's fine. Really, it's not a place to discuss political stuff or to talk with your friends so even harsh censorship is fine. MiiVerse is best as a general activity feed or a compilation of people's thoughts about particular pieces of software. If they want to be a bit heavy handed with what they allow to appear when I'm playing local-multi Wii Sports Club? By all means. Why wouldn't they be?
If you want to have a private conversation or discuss something on a public forum? Well use some other medium. There's no shortage of them.
I use Miiverse to look at art and post thoughts on games. I don't have any problems with it that are unique (i.e. not found everywhere else on the internet)

The concept itsself of a social network sort of thing for videos games is sort of genius even if it isn't needed. But it was always going to be censored due to nintendo's image and the child predator letterbox stuff didn't help.
WAT!
Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.

When you see a post saying "Any 11 year old girls want to Wii U chat with me or skype?" it becomes fairly apparent why the moderation needs to be heavy handed.
