Oh ok this is another Nintendo is suppose to dominate the gaming world thread, I see. You need to see the ugly truth the reason Nintendo was successful in the NES days was because they had no competition. They strong-armed third parties and did some shady things business wise. The moment, the was someone else in the game Nintendo lost their hold on the industries. They couldn't resort to their tactics and Monopolist ways anymore and as a result they just don't know what to do.

BTW, I kinda agreed with most of your original post (as in "hey, I wish they'd fix this, y'know?) but to me it really fell apart when you claimed that your points were why the Wii U failed.

Actually the Gamecube is one of my favourite consoles of all time. I prefered it over the original Xbox wich I also had at the time as more games was 60fps. Some of my best gaming memories was with Metroid Prime, Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, Killer7..

When the Wii came out I shure did feel alienated and ended up re-purchasing Twilight Princess as the Gamecube Version for it to be playable at all.

Wii U is a step in the right direction. Id take the Gamepad over the Wii any day but there's still all these restrictions and lack of options and a freakin' NORMAL Controller all the way.

Nintendo = awesome IPs, horrible controllers.

I think Nintendo needs more RPG's and Adventure titles on the Wii U.

I'm preeeeeety sure that you're not wrong at all, it's not like there was this fierce competition between Nintendo and SEGA or anything, because Nintendo clearly folded at the 'moment' there was competition. Same with handhelds, once the PSP sold 150 million units to the DS's 80 million there was the end for Nintendo, never to recover as they are now left eating the dust of the PS Vita and tablets with the failure that is the 3DS- only 12 million or so units sold.

If only Nintendo weren't so damn lucky all the time they woulda died already!

I want to be able to turn the display off on my gamepad when I'm using it. I don't mind using it as a controller, but having the screen running when I'm not looking at it annoys me in my peripheral vision and wastes battery.

nintendo defined "normal controller". when you say "normal controller" you are thinking of something you love because nintendo made you love it. so stop whining and use their other methods of control, you will grow to love them too

@TheLastLugia: I never said Nintendo folded. And I will admit handhelds they do really well. I was saying that people like the OP cite how Nintendo was a powerhouse in the NES and SNES eras and now are a former shell of themeslves without realizing why that is.

I didn't like the GC or N64 controllers. Wii controls were cool.

As I said on Pushsquare if you wish to bring that up use a contact form. And quite honestly Sony is not my favorite company, so you really need to stop, you are making yourself look foolish.

I wish we could have a friends list on the game pad displayed at all times. Easy to manage to see who is playing what and if you can join in with them. I feel the gamepad was heavily underutilized outside of games.
