How Do You Deal With Morons? - Wii U Forum

I'm a college student and a lot of the people I interact with, obviously, are gamers. However, I can't seem to bring up Nintendo, the Wii, or Wii U without getting talked down to, insulted, or ignored completely. At the start of the year, they were saying it wasn't a next-gen console. Now, they've regressed to not even considering it a console. "Maybe if you got a REAL console...!" On top of that, they refuse to consider any Nintendo first party title to be a good game series. The Legend of Zelda in particular. I believe firmly in what I believe. I like all of the Big Three even though I can't afford everything. They just get to me sometimes. To be honest, even though they're supposed to be my friends, I'll be glad to be away from them over the summer and next year, but how do I deal with morons like this? How do you deal with these people? They're everywhere.

Just ignore them. I've ran into a few people that do the whole "PC Master Race" thing and I just shake my head and laugh. I own all the current generation consoles and while I definitely think that Nintendo has made various mistakes over the past two generations and deserve a lot of their criticism, they still make some really fun games and if you're a gamer that is all that should really matter. Even though I've been a bit underwhelmed with the Wii U I definitely don't regret my purchase and I know it will just get better as time goes on.

last year one of the dudes at college that was my pokémon partner started joking at me because I didn't stop playing Pokémon(he still does it but he's not stupid enough to do it in front of me anymore)
