With how popular Mario is, I wish there was a kids cartoon that was actually produced by a good company like how the Pokemon cartoons are. The ones from the early 90's by DiC weren't very good and pretty forgettable. I sort of wish Mario was more popular with kids outside of just the video games. There should be Mario legos and a cartoon.
Forgetable?
I LOVED The Super Mario Bros Super Show!
Hell i have them all on DVD.
If they're that forgetable, why would someone like myself bother?
I think it's subjective personally.
To each their own sort of thing.
Is there also a reason why there aren't any official Lego sets and minifigures of Mario, Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, ect.? There were countless petitions and none of them worked.
Petitions aren't going to do much if Nintendo and Lego won't work out a licensing deal to get the figures produced (given Nintendo's recent openness to licensing IPs this could change though).
HA HA HA! This thread title is funny for how wrong it is, it had one when it was started out on the NES.
I honestly feel like 4 or 5 of you just skipped past the part of my initial post where I said "there was a Mario cartoon in the 90's produced by DiC.
Probably because that part simply meant you contradicted yourself...or rather, convoluted your point. Your title says "Why Doesn't Mario Have A Cartoon?" Then you state that he has one, it's just not very good and therefore doesn't count because bad things don't exist, or something. Adding a single, solitary word to the title - "Why doesn't Mario have a Good Cartoon?" Is all you'd need to clear up the confusion and solidify your point, yet apparently we're the lazy ones...
Geez... I meant why isn't there a Mario cartoon NOW. No kids are watching the Super Mario Super Show or the Mario 3 cartoon. I'm talking today, in the present.
So you want more stories of the princess getting captured? also you might not want to cuss here or edit the cuss word like such...that would be a bad idea, you been warned
The Super Show was too perfect for another series to be created.
Of course, I said that the Zelda show was too awful for another series to follow and that didn't come true, so there might still be a chance for a Mario show.
I personally like the Nintendo cartoons(The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Super Mario Bros. 3, Captain N & The Video Game Masters, Super Mario World, & Super Mario All-Stars). My favorites were TAoSMB3/CN/TLoZ. My least fav was SMW. I am old enough that I was around when these were new, & I remember watching them new, so nostalgia does play a part in my liking these.
Yeah, a lot of the time the plots were corny, but you have to consider that when these were made, there was not much material to go on, in some cases so early in each game series. For example, a lot of Youtube commenters on the relevent cartoon videos refer to only 2 Triforces in Zelda, & Link's character design. At the time it was made, only The Legend of Zelda, & Adventure of Link were out; Zelda canon had not introduced a 3-piece Triforce yet. It was called a triforce, based solely on its triangular design. Link's design was how the character looked (back) then.
@Munchakoopas: @SmashMario: Nintendo does actually license Mario toys, such as K'Nex, & Mario Kart toys.
@Dezzy: The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, or the other one commonly referred to as SatAM?
Edit: Also, i remember watching a youtube review of CN, & the reviewer brought up a good point; a lot of CN's eps(episodes) were based on non-Nintendo ips, & that having all those co.s come together to license their ip for use in a single cartoon dedicated to 1 console was pretty amazing for it's time, & it's debatable if that would ever happen again, in regards to video games-based cartoons.
Edit #2: All, or most, video game cartoons from the 70's/80's/early 90's were generally cheesy. Example: "Mega Man's gonna need my help whether he needs it, or not!" - Roll
I will admit, the Mario 3 cartoon did help develop the personalities of the beloved Koopalings. I didn't like how they made Roy's voice though and Larry/Cheatsy looked like he was always high and like he has down syndrome.
I'll also never forgive them for having Yoshi talk.
I still wish they made a new Mario cartoon based off the more recent games. They can put Daisy, Rosalina, Wario, and the rest of the cast in.

Um, but didn't Yoshi talk originally? I seem to recall him talking in Super Mario World, his first appearance.
Feel free to add me on the Nintendo Network: ShadJV
Here's my 3DS FC, always looking for Pokemon X Friend Safaris: 2191-7643-5167
Peace!
Because there were originally tons of Mario adaptations, and the vast majority sucked so badly that Nintendo was worried about the effect it was having on the reputation of the franchise. Or something. They're very protective of their series, which is probably a good thing after the likes of the Mario Ice Capades, King Koopa's Kool Kartoons, the usually rather awful anime adaptations that had nothing to do with anything and the live action movie. And much of the cartoon series, comics, etc.
That said, I'd be kind of interested to see a new Mario cartoon, one that was actually done well. Not sure how it'd work though, it'd have to be a very loose adapation in order to simply not end up two decades behind the current state of franchise.
