Meh, EA makes poop games infested with micro transactions and DLC.
I'm actually really happy that they stay out of Nintendos consoles.

I find it funny that fanboys are saying 'I'll love it when they come crawling back once Wii U sales grow'. Do you think that would be something EA would be ashamed about? Avoid making games now when you'll make a loss on each one, but come back in a year or two when Wii U games are making money? Yeah, that sounds like something they'd be so disappointed by.

Honestly, too many commenters on NLife articles think these companies behave like school kids. It's all about the money. They'll make the decision that makes the most money. They don't make games because they like or dislike another company.

@Peach64
Normally the case but we are talking about EA here. They aren't exactly the poster child for good business management.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"

They're just crying because Nintendo refused to use origin that's why ea is the biggest complainers and the worst company ever I could care less about there crappy games which involve numerous amounts of dlc because they are money loversI got a wii u for Nintendo games and exclusives not crappy ea sports or battlefield they run there servers crap and they overcharge on everything can you imagine there star wars games upgrade your lightsaber to a different colour for just an additional fee of 10 dollars what a load of crap.....

Even though I do enjoy the games that EA produce it seems that EA will integrate Origin / internet activiation for all of their upcoming next-gen titles and that is why they wont support any Wii U titles due to Nintendo denying them that greed. So in my book i kinda want to support Nintendo even more for stepping up against the giant.

Historically EA Games has never been major on Nintendo-platforms and even with the Wii that got some exclusive content from EA, they could just as well had not been there and the success would have been the same. It wasnt really the Dead Space-railshooter, Boom Blox or the lackluster Medal of Honor PS2-ports that made people interested in the Wii.

And it isnt Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit U or Mass Effect 3: Special Edition that sells Wii U eithers. (obviously).

So even though EA does good games... Nintendo and the Wii U problably wont be that much different without them.

Too bad it got so ugly. I really sense EA is upping their game new gen. I think they'll have a great E3 showing.

The title of the thread is misleading. They have confirmed they aren't making games for this year, not for the Wii U's entire life cycle.

I don't blame EA nor am I mad at them. EA games do not sell on the Wii U.

It doesn't really affect me on a personal level as the only EA games I've ever really enjoyed were The Sims/The Sims 2. But I can see how they have their fans and so can understand why people would be disappointed, even if I don't agree with some of EA's more controversial business decisions.

Either way, they'll surely develop games for the Wii U eventually; whenever it becomes a more valid platform to make money off of.

I don't think the 'relationship' will be tightening up anytime soon..

Bob Summerwill Senior SE and Architect, EA Sports .. Tweeted today.. - "The WiiU is crap.Less powerful than an XBOX360.Poor online/store.Weird tablet.Nintendo are walking dead at this point."

Among other nasty things to say...

I heard that Nintendo walked out of talks with EA over Origin being on the Wii U. Only a rumour mind, but the time I heard about it correlated with the time EA got all "butthurt" with Ninty.

Kind of disappointing as I was going to buy this year's version of Madden after skipping last year's.. I love EA's games, but sometimes their management and policies just piss me off..

You know what hurts a company like EA? Share price.

If the decision makers at EA see a guaranteed $ in profit, they'll be there because that's what they're In Business For.

Until they see that value, they're an interested party, not a 3rd party.

Clearly they're upset about something since their senior employee went and raged about how awful Wii U is, I feel like its more than just money at this point

Nobody knows the real reason. My guess is it has to do with blocking used games. Sony said they will "do the right thing" whatever that means. The endless nextbox always online rumors points to both may have a used game blocking system built-in. EA hates used game sales and was one of the first with online pass. I'm just looking at resent history of what EA has said. You could even say that was why they wanted origin on the wii u.

It's been confirmed that PS4 won't block used games. I think rumors about xbox 720blocking used games have been dubunked, but I can't remember and I can't find the annoucement.

Wonder what EA's up to then because they just finished their online pass system

I would say this is really troubling for Nintendo, as EA is arguably the biggest publising entity in gaming, but do EA games actually sell well on Nintendo systems? Their sports games never seemed to do well outside of the golf iterations, and the rest of their franchises seem to have the least support on Nintendo's systems. I personally like a lot of franchises owned by EA (Dead Space, Need for Speed, SSX, Mass Effect, Crysis, etc.) but I also have other systems for those. That seems to be the case for others as well.

With all that taken into account, I can't help but feel that EA is making the right choice here.
