I think Nintendo as made the wrong decision by not discontinuing the Wii Console for this up coming Holiday Season. Some customer are still confused with the WiiU thinking it's only a gamepad add-on for the Wii. At my local best buy the Wii section is still as big as the WiiU. The Wii hasn't really been supported by Nintendo since November 2011.
Wii Mini will sell this holiday season for 80$CND or 99$ CND (Mario Kart version) every one that pick up this console will probably not pick up a WiiU for at least a full year or two if ever. Nintendo is fragmenting their own market. That's without even taking in consideration the two juggernaut that are about to hit the market.
Nintendo as failed to secure a lead against the competition and by this time March 2014, they might find them self in third place. I think the Nintendo Wii need to go BYE BYE.
No one's going to buy a Wii U just because they can't find a new Wii for sale. The discontinuation will likely have no effect on Wii U sales, and won't in other regions either.
