Topic: Are you disappointed with Mighty No. 9 so far?

I was ecstatic at the initial announcement for the game, but after seeing footage, I'm not liking the game. The art style looks bland, the level design looks bad, the music is annoying, the dash mechanic looks broken, and the game just doesn't have the polish of Mega Man. What do you think? Sound off below!

I purposely avoid early screen shots, news etc for games that I am interested in that way I don't get bummed out before I play the game. I honestly won't know till I play it.

Can't speak of the gameplay, but the visuals do seem a bit bland. Let's just say that I'm still not sold on the game, despite the numerous trailers and gameplay videos.

The visuals are kind of bland, but I could live with that if the gameplay was still good. I really dislike the look of the dash mechanic in the game though. I'm still reserving my final judgement for when I actually play the game, but what I've seen so far has been somewhat disappointing.

Has anyone gone through all the actual megaman games to where they have no more Megaman content to where they hope a knock off can fill that megaman sized hole in their heart?

I think wikipedia says there are at least 100 Megaman games.......I stopped playing them after Megaman 3 on the NES.

I don't think Mighty No. 9 is bad, but it's not exactly great. The art style doesn't appeal to me, and the dash gimmick just seems like it was put in at the last minute. I can say it's a unique game, but... not for me.

(Before any fanboys start raging at me, I've not played any Mega Man games before this, so they aren't changing my opinion.)

I'll probably buy it during a sale.

I must say that it isn't bad by any means but it's not as appealing as I thought it would be. I was expecting a bit more and it most likely won't replace Mega Man like I thought it would. It lacks something but I can't put my finger on it, maybe it's polish like the OP said.

I can judge it though (to an extent) since I actually played a bit of the Xbox version previously at an convention and the gameplay was alright but that's it. Wasn't fantastic or great like I was expecting, just OK. It didn't help that the Mega Man 1 spike "issue" is in the game and certain bosses can 1-hit KO you; which isn't really fair and I imagine is not very good game design.

Granted I've only played 3 full levels I wasn't that impressed but I've already said this enough in the actual thread for the game.

This is the problem with people hyping themselves up over an idea: it'll almost invariably end up different and, as a result, disappointing.

From what I've seen, It looks okay and the graphics remind me of Megaman: Network Transmission, which was somewhat bland...

It's started to look like an eShop game that's getting a physical version.

From what I've seen xo far, yes. Everything about the visuals lacks charm and personality, making it look very generic.
As for the gameplay, I'm not even sure I'll ever find it out, since my interest in this game has already reached a low point some time ago, and most of the more recent announcements only fuel my disinterest for Mighty No. 9 even further.

Can't give a final statement since I haven't played, but I still think people on here should be able to express some kind of thoughts or opinions of what they've seen. Personally, from what I saw and expected from the Kickstarter and what we've seen..I'm kind of disappointed. The visuals, animations, and level design all seem so lacking. I really wanted this to be something great, especially for Mega Man fans, but it just doesn't have that charm..which is a shame considering the huge backing it ended up having. Obviously I'm going to wait for the finished product to say any final thoughts, but..I was hoping for more from what we've seen.

I am not that disappointed. As long as it is decent i will support because its 3rd party!

Unlike Slightly Mad Studios its looks as though they will actually deliver!!!!
