Nintendo does have a workaround to their comment that there would be "No NX info". If there are more new Wii U games that release concurrently with NX, then they can show said games as Wii U titles and announce them for NX later on.

I'm as hopeful for the Wii U as anyone but even I'm sceptical about there being any new Wii U titles. I like to think that there has been an Animal Crossing in the works, I think we know Pikmin 4 is basically done. But Nintendo is putting the cue in the rack, they aren't expecting to sell many more Wii Us. So why should we expect there to be more games than the ones already announced?

My expectations for the Wii U's showing at E3 don't extend beyond Zelda. And in my mind I'm already picturing myself playing that game on the NX. I'm already mentally finding space for my Wii U on the second TV for when the NX launches. Even me, one of the biggest Wii U apologists, has moved on. If there's one last big game we don't know about? That'll be amazing but I'm going into this last period of the Wii U's life assuming there won't be.

One of the things that often gets thrown around is the idea that "Nintendo doesn't want to burn Wii U owners". What better way to avoid that by releasing more games for both Wii U and NX just like we saw with PS4/PS3 and XB1/360.

True but at the same time there's a fair chance that the NX will have more software sold in 2017 than the Wii U will have on 2016. The Wii U in 2015 was sitting at 28mill units of software. The XBOne got 7.7mill in the last few months of 2013. So....

Hopefully NoA will put their E3 announcement up. That's always good for a chuckle.

I just thought of something. Maybe Nintendo won't even have a Direct / Digital Event this year if the reality is as barren as we're seeing.

what recent events lead you to believe a minecraft expansion with nintendo characters was coming?!

I'm more worried about the lack of Wii U stuff. NX can wait, that won't we out until 2017 anyway.

This is of no surprise but CoD has ditched Xbox 360 and PS3 (Infinite Warfare coming to neither).

@Whitewatermoose: The NoA PR for Minecraft Wii U Edition already said something about Nintendo content. That was months before the SMD leak.

Having the same floor space as Sony filled with only one game, I think Zelda Wii U will be cross compatible with Zelda NX...because the new Zelda game is not only massive open world...but massive multiplayer as well.

@Whitewatermoose: Well, single player was mentioned as one of the 'Zelda conventions' that they were challenging.

Since supposedly there are games in development for 3DS, and we don't know what Camelot Software has been doing since Mario Tennis Wii U (which was pretty barren anyway), I'm going to hope for Golden Sun 4. It's almost impossible, I know.

Direct this week?

The last time this happened a Nintendo Direct came 2 days later.

@Grumblevolcano: Got to be a coincidence. No way they do a Direct so close to E3, especially given the current circumstances..... Unless they really do plan on just showing Zelda.....

Perhaps they're filming the E3 plans video?

Maybe they'll preview any pre E3 games they want to release?

@Luna_110: There's only two games from Nintendo releasing pre-E3 though. Disney Art Academy and Kirby Planet Robobot. Unless there's some sort of digital-only release, there's not really much to talk about.

Maybe it'll be the replacement to their E3 Digital Event.
