I read an article on Hardcore Gaming about the Valis series. It said the original Japanese PC versions of the first were so cheap they were nearly unplayable (power-ups cost health and if you don't have enough, they kill you.), nevermind a reported healthy dose of bad control. And the Famicom game took the traditional adventure game idea "challenge = make the game world as confusing as possible to navigate". Making it illogical is a good step in that direction.
Though supposedly the Genesis and TG16 versions were made to be fairer.
Need some Gremlins passwords? Mine has them all written right on the back in marker.

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
I know I probably should just get the original, but I ordered Civilization for SNES for $28 shipped cart+manual.
CIB Super Pinball: Behind the Mask for about $12 shipped. Probably one of the creepiest games Nintendo has ever published. But we should expect nothing less, coming from the developer who made Astro Go Go and Zombie Nation. I know there's a Super Famicom sequel maybe I should get at some point.
@WanderFan91: I thought that Rocket Knight Adventures did come out on SNES but they just named it Sparkster. Was that not the same game? I am not sure cause I never played either I just saw them at the video store when I was a kid.
@Ryno: HAHA I remember renting Gremlins 2 as a kid and really enjoying it. Is it not one of those games that ages well?

@Tasuki: Gremlins 2 is OK, I have been playing it on my Retro Duo Portable and the D-Pad isn't very good. Maybe it would be more enjoyable with a real NES controller because the diagonal jumping and aiming is pretty important in this one. Also, yeah I have a copy of Sparkster for the SNES which is its own separate game because I'm sure that you remember, games were more often different between the systems then alike.
@Ryno: Ok yeah I remember now how a good dpad is needed for Gremlins 2. In fact iirc I remember going out and buying a new NES controller when I rented Gremlins 2 lol. And yeah I remember some games were different between the two systems like Aladdin for example just wasn't sure if Sparkster and Rocket Knight Adventure were different games in the same series or the same game with a different name or whatever other craziness went on. As I said I never really played either of them I just saw the boxes at the local video store when I was a kid.

Rocket Knight Adventures, Sparkster SNES and Sparkster Genesis are actually three different games.
Konami had a habit of developing different games on both consoles. Animaniacs was also a same-title separate game on SNES and Genesis (though the Game Boy got a port of the Genesis version).
I am not really finding Gremlins 2 all that fun, what did you think?
ill tell you what i think, i think if you try inserting the game inside a sega genesis youll find it to be more enjoyable.
im always right, however if you have the slightest doubt refer to my signature.
you ladies have a nice day!

SNS-RZ-USA? That's the code for Rocky & Bullwinkle. I agree that is a game that sucks so much it should be criminal to make to sell.
(yeah, I know looking that up on Google links to the thread with the original context of that message.)
Activision 2600 time!
Space Shuttle, white label variant.
This is one of the rarest of the Activision 2600 carts (tied with River Raid II, which I already have, on the rarity index), and the only white label variant cart released in North America (other regions had many). I honestly expected I would never find this one, as this was the first time I had ever seen it listed anywhere, and I managed to get it at a far far cheaper price than i would have imagined.
Now I'm down to needing just 8 more Activision 2600 carts, all of which I shouldn't have a problem finding (as long as I'm willing to pay the prices for a couple of the more elusive ones — Beamrider and Cosmic Commuter) with the exception of Double Dragon — I haven't seen that one pop up anywhere for quite a while.
Got a CIB copy of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team. Wondering if I should have gone with the DS version, but it's too late for that now.
Disappointing that was the only GBA game NoA felt deserved any PK Love post-E3 2006.
Fun with friends, but really lame on your own. I like that they tried hard to make it more balanced and complex, but it still doesn't feel like it matters much.
Since its the 2nd of the month I got a couple of highly sought after games with the number 2 in them.
I'm missing the original and then my Mega Man NES collection is complete and still need Mega Man 7 and Mega Man X3 to finish off the SNES games.
Wow, has this game become valuable and the box has become pretty rare! I think I'm good with just owning 2 & 3 for the SNES games. I have Final Fight arcade on my PS3 and Final Fight One for the GBA.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery
Does Yoshi's Island on the Wii U virtual console count? Because I'm playing it on my TV with what's essentially a SNES controller (i.e. the classic controller) I look at it as the 1995 original, even though technically it's the GBA version.
Whatever - it's a classic from the 90s, so I'm calling it retro and it is awesome to be able to play it on a big screen again!
My game library ranges from Mario Kart to Call of Duty to Tales of Xillia to Diablo 3 to Forza. To me gaming is about having fun - not blindly supporting only one company while thumbing your nose at "the evil other systems."
Kudos on the purchase of Mega Man II, Ryno (my second favorite MM game after III) Really great game, and one of Capcom's best 8-bit efforts. Mega Man X3, should you be able to get it, is superior to Mega Man VII imo (the latter, having played it after beating the first six games straight, honestly felt disappointing to me on so many levels; I wanted to like it, though, I really did, but it just didn't work for me (to me it just felt stale and unenjoyable); the former, on the other hand, is very decent but a tad on the challenging side, particularly during the final final battle with Sigma). Of course, your mileage may vary on which of these two you'll like the most.
My Final Fight 2 is the Super Famicom version. Fortunately I was able to buy the box and manual somewhat recently to go with the cart I've had for years.
Has Ryno yet turned into the Capcom Craze Club '80s dude?
The only version I played of Final Fight 2 was the Super Famicom version, but solely for purism purposes (experiencing like it was meant to be experienced); as well as the fact that there are female fighters, the first boss has got a meat cleaver, and I think the blood spurts that occur whenever a blade comes into contact with someone is only found here (I think Capcom replaced them with Streets of Rage-like starburst effects in the Western version).
