I am checking in because I am a big fan of SNES and SFC games and have had no trouble playing imported games on my american super Nintendo using a modded game genie. However I recently bought jikkyou oshaberi parodius and the game despite having clean pins would not run on my console. I sent it back figuring there was a problem with the cartridge, however after reading online I heard on a few forums that the game has a Japanese lockout mechanism in its sa-1 chip. I don't know if this is true and really want to order another copy so I just want to hear from you all if this is true or not and if so how I can circumvent it.
@Waluigi: thank you and Tasuki for your replies — and my apologies for posting anything problematic on this forum! Are there any forums more suited for my questions that either of you know to ask about this?
@Waluigi: thanks alot! — I just joined the site to ask this question, so my apologies for going against any rules!
Oh you didn't break any rules, no worries! We just aren't helpful with these things, we're more of a discussion forum than a tech support forum! Best of luck though

Game Genie with the extra pins?
Though SA-1 is a bit of a "smarter" chip and maybe it can detect that.
It definitely works using the tab-removal method as I own the game and have played it with my tabless American SNES.
(also, Nintendo only made two lockout chips on the SNES: NTSC and PAL. Any NTSC console is electronically compatible with any NTSC cart, and PAL consoles with PAL carts.)
