I still own mine. Play it occasionally. I HIGHLY doubt it'll ever be on the vc, simply because all the games on it have been released on the VC already, so releasing a game for 800 pts when the games on it are all 500 pts (total of 2000 pts) would be INCREDIBLY pointless.

This is my all time favorite cartridge. I could see this being released as a club nintendo platinum prize, but otherwise probably not. I wouldn't hold my breath for this showing up on the VC. Luckily the original cart is easy to find and fairly cheep. I recently bought the version with SMW for $25 on amazon.
Hmm, I just realized, this year is the 25th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. A special, limited time or perhaps Club Nintendo exclusive release of All-Stars on Virtual Console would make perfect sense. I remember Yoshi's Island was touted as celebrating the 10th anniversary, when it was originally released, so that game too is a possibility. Heck, why not both along with the release of Super Mario Galaxy 2. They could make a "Month of Mario" like they did with Metroid back in 07.
I still own the original NES carts, plus the original SNES All-Stars cart. One thing I didn't like about the All-Stars versions was that Nintendo went back to "fix" some of the popular bugs or glitches from the original NES versions. That and playing SMB1-2-3 with recycled SMW sound effects seemed kind of lame.
Plus, the lone coin block at the end of 8-3 is supposed to be a sort of joke. It's a "hidden" via the background brick texture and looks like you're hitting a "loose" block in the background wall. All-Stars ruins it.
I dont expect All-Stars to appear on the VC with the original NES games available.
I actually prefer the 8-bit originals, in every way including graphics. The only NES Mario game I own on VC is the Lost Levels and I think it's going to stay that way.
As great as it is, does anyone else feel like the controls are a little off, particularly in Super Mario Bros. 3. It's nothing that you can't get used to, but it does seem to play a little bit differently than the original NES game. Either way, it was one of the best cartridges ever released.

How come Nintendo release Kirby Super Star, a game catridge with 8 games in 1, but don't release Super Mario All Stars !
Probably because all of the games from Super Mario All-Stars (including Super Mario World) are already on Virtual Console (except without the Super NES upgrades, of course). I would love to see it up on VC, but it might not for that reason.

Hey, i sent a message to Nintendo asking if they were going re-release Super Mario All Stars and this what they said:
Greetings, I completely understand why you’d want to see Super Mario All-Stars added to the Wii’s Virtual Console, so I’m happy to forward your comments to be added to the record of feedback about the service!
Of course, even though your feedback has been forwarded, I can only speculate when or if the game will become available. There are many possible difficulties in getting a game cleared for inclusion, but I want to assure you that we are working hard to get the best games on the Virtual Console in a way that makes sense for us, our partners, and you.

P.S. DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS??
It means they get hundreds of suggestions and they probably take those into account when deciding which games to put on the system. It doesn't mean All-Stars is ever going to get released, though.
The SMB3 All stars sucked. The only merit was saving. that's it
Yeah, and you can kinda do that with the VC ports with suspended play.
In all honesty I dont see them at all bringing Super Mario All Stars out on the VC unless the price is 1500 points maybe. Its a marketing thing. Why would they release Super Mario All Stars at the regular price of 800 Wii points for a Super Nintendo game when they can get 1500 points from people for all 3 of their NES counterparts? If they were going to release the games on the SNES VC with the 800 points they would be shooting themselves in the foot.

I still own it. I neat Lost Levels just a few weeks ago. Mine doesn't have SMW, though.
And I SERIOUSLY doubt they'll ever release this on VC, considering all the games are already on the VC, for a combined price of 28 dollars (including mario world). Releasing a compilation of all those for only 8 dollars would be kinda dumb on Nintendo's part.
