is this exactly what it sounds like? youd buy a box made to look exactly like an old box, to keep your game in?
if so, i think it's a "you do you" situation. i cant imagine wanting the extra bulk of a box unless it was the original box, and even then, ive sometimes thought "gee, i wish i didnt have box for this game so i wouldnt have to store and maintain it as well" 😂
OTOH i do think the boxes look neat, and its the only way to really "display" your n64 carts since they dont have edge labels, or whatever you call that, so i can see the appeal. my n64 carts just kinda go in one plain box for this reason 😆
It's fine for personal use only. Definitely don't sell them though; even if you're honest about it, the buyer might not be and, if they fail to disclose it when selling them on, someone ends up with a fake. There are enough of those around without adding to the problem.
Anyway, I've made a few myself, albeit only with games that came on optical disc because you really don't want those loose. There's a site called thecoverproject.net that lets you download high quality scans that you can get printed. They've not got every single variant of every game but they do have a lot and also sometimes have custom covers if you want something that won't get mixed up with the real thing.
There's no reason why you can't do boxes; you'd just need someone to print them on card. A lot of office supplies places will do this for you, if you haven't got a suitable printer yourself.
I'm pretty sure that's the one I've been looking at on Etsy. Storage space isn't an issue as I've only got about 30 N64 games. I've no desire to buy anymore as these are the ones I played as a child.
I'm one of the lucky ones who still has his N64 games in their original boxes. They do take up quite a bit of space on the shelf though but fortuantely storage space for me atm isn't an issue.
