My best friend had a physical card game played like war. Where both people played different cards based on Japanese soldiers and warriors like the samurai each had a picture of the warrior and a number you would pick what to play and if your card beat the other one you got the card. I remember the shock when I saw it was made by Nintendo. I just trying to remember the name.

This game totally brings back memories of rainy afternoons spent glued to the screen, strategizing and battling.

Anyone else ever notice how these side-scrolling card games scratch a similar itch to classic PC games like spider solitaire? There's something about the building, sequencing, and maneuvering that feels oddly comforting, even though they're completely different genres.

I've got a hanafuda deck from Nintendo, but I'm afraid that I'm not familiar with those cards. Still, Nintendo's history with cards is pretty cool.

If you go to the Nintendo fandom wiki, you can find details on all of Nintendo's playing cards. I tried looking through it to find what you were talking about, but you may have better luck since you have seen these cards in the past.
