I was cleaning out my closet and found instruction booklet's for these NES games The Legend of Zelda,Paperboy,Super Mario Bros 2,Super Mario Bros 3,Tetris,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,Metroid,Yo! Noid and Double Dragon.
Which I found funny since I don't have my NES or any of the games any more. I must say after seeing these for the first time in years old school books were so much better they had backstory's and what not and just more in depth.
Yeeey, someone who agrees. Old manuals were very nice things to go trough. Thick, richly Illustrated with maps or enemies and their background, colourful. Nowadays it contains nothing more than the instructions how to control your character in a black & white, ugly manual.
I have a mess of old Game boy instruction booklets in my draws. I don't know why I kept them, but I just didn't want to trash them, Like the old Pokemon yellow manual, It look like a Pokemon Trainer handbook, with all the things, that a trainer needs to know when you first start your Pokemon Journey

Yeah, instruction booklets have gone downhill with time. The SMB manual was quite thick and interesting if I recall. I remember the GB Tetris instruction manual telling you how the scoring was calculated, how to play the heart levels, everything. Now you look at the Tetris Party Deluxe manual, and it's 3 pages that show you the main menu and basic controls yet explain nothing about how any of the games actually work.
The intruction booklet is more than just a document that tells you the controls, its an extension of the game world.
Well said. Take for instance a look at the Zelda 1 manual and map; they are inseparable from the gold cartridge itself. It shows dedication, and it enriches your imagination too of the game itself and imagination in general.

You know stupid people pay like $5 a pop for old NES/GB game manuals, more if it's for a rare/desperate to get for someone type title. If the system you don't have and won't again, let alone the games, make some money.
