Goldeneye was an amazing game, and it was actually the deciding factor for me when the N64 came out. I thought video game graphics could never get better. But, when Perfect Dark came out, it blew me away. Perfect Dark took everything that made Goldeneye great and doubled it. Sure, its framerate dropped a little when there was a lot of crap going on onscreen, but it was easily overlooked to me, when the game is as good as it is.
Perfect dark was a copy of golden eye YOu couldn't be donkey kong or use paintball guns in perfect dark and you needed an expansion pack to play story.

I don't know what you're talking about; paintball mode, and DK mode were both available, and there was a plethora of new cheats to unlock, including the ability to play as several other characters. Paintball mode was available immediately; it wasn't an unlockable. The fact that you needed an expansion pack to play story mode is a GOOD thing. It means there's that much more to it! It doesn't always necessarily mean it's better, but with Perfect Dark, everything was.
There is something about the feel of Goldeneye that I like more than Perfect Dark, but PD has all of GE's best weapons and levels, plus more options and AI opponents. It's hard to choose, and on some days I would tell you GE is the best and on others PD.
As for single-player, both were okay, but I play for multi-player, so I don't bother to compare the two.
Goldeneye was and is a pure classic, and defined console fps's. Perfect Dark though was the evolution and massive step forward. I'd go for Perfect Dark every time, the challenge was greater, the weapons and levels more diverse, and the Combat-Simulator was just heaving with options and customizations. Plus it had Darkbot's. They kept me busy for such a long time and were more cunning and lethal than any human I ever played. Me, versus 2/3 of those badboys was a true test of my gaming skills, and I loved it! And don't forget counter co-op mode, so much fun had with that.
The only game that may tempt me toward a 360, is the impending re-release of PD. I am so jealous!
What are you talking about, it's been said once already, Perfect Dark has paint ball mode, and it's already unlocked when you first start the game. Timesplitters was the only game to carry on the epic FPS torch. I haven't seen a game with so many multi modes, weapons and everything since Timesplitters Future Perfect came out. To me, FPS's have gotten worse, and I blame it all on CoD.
