I was planing on getting one of these used at Gamestop but I have some questions. 1) Can it play Japanese GBA games? 2) Can you play multiplayer with GCN conrollers? 3)Does Gamestop sell it with the start-up disc? 4)Is it worth it? 5)Hows do the graphics look?

1. Not sure, but i don't think so. 2. Don't believe so, since GBA games that have multiplayer require multiple copies of the game. 3. Sometimes. Ask first; i've seen them sell it both with the disc and alone. It's useless without the disc though, of course. 4. If you like GBA games, then sure. I loved using it with games like Minish Cap and Metroid Fusion. 5. Graphics are good, but of course since they are upsized for your TV screen, they may be a pit "pixel-ish". Most games look fine though. Individual tastes may vary.
Also, if you can find it (and it isn't crazy money; i see them going for quite a bit these days), also try to pick up Hori's gamepad made specifically for the Player -- it's a GC controller with out the analog sticks and in the style of an SNES pad. Best 3rd party controller ever.
I was planing on getting one of these used at Gamestop but I have some questions. 1) Can it play Japanese GBA games? -- YES, like normal GBA no region lock 2) Can you play multiplayer with GCN conrollers? -- No, just with a jack and a real GBA 3)Does Gamestop sell it with the start-up disc? -- Yes, just make sure it's a USA start-up disc as I've seen them suckered by Japanese discs being stupid. 4)Is it worth it? -- I think it is, games are blown up but still look fantastic, audio sure a hell of a lot nicer from a tv or stereo plugged into your sound system. That is, unless the game is just horribly recorded/sampled, even old GB games look/sound good. 5)Hows do the graphics look? As I said before, look good, real good. Some games can seem a bit jaggy or pixelized to one extreme or the other, most don't, but for those that do you can go from 'normal' to 'soft(blurred a bit)' or 'sharp(very crisp)' detailing. It plays on an area about 85% of the screen, but at a button tap fill the screen. Overall it's the only reason I still use the Gamecube anymore as it's just nicer at times to do a GB, GBC, or GBA game on the big 29" tv I have.

Exactly. I got lucky some months ago when Lamestop stlil was shoveling the unit for $50 that I got it local for $10 by a private seller. I started sitting in the bedroom with my large crt it's on and had a blast with various games. Even the old square screen GB titles look awesome either in their 'gba letterbox' or in the stretch mode too. Sure it's 8bit and a bit more squarey, but it still looks fine and the audio is far better than the portable can do.

Ah, I remember getting one of those and Kirby Air Ride for my shiny-new GameCube back in 2003. Good times... But in all seriousness, the GameCube controller kinda ruins games like Mario & Luigi and Mega Man Battle Network. I prefer the Super Game Boy for SNES more if you wanna play classic GB games.
Get the special cable that allows you to connect a GBA to one of the GC controller ports. It's far better playing with a GBA as a controller than with a GC controller.

I have 2 from 4 Swords Adventures, and the Pokemon Coliseum games.

If you need a start-up disc, in the US, Nintendo still sells them for $15 in their online store. Though I'd guess you might get a better deal from a GBP+disc deal on ebay.
