Hello, I bought a GBC a couple of months back, and about a week later when it was off the battery slot got so hot it burnt to touch and I had to use a screwdriver to get the batteries out. Does anyone have a suggestion to fix this? I've been afraid to put more batteries in it since, and I've had to play the games I got with it on GBA SP.

Hmmmm I never heard of that before of course using the wrong batteries could do that. The only thing I can suggest is does the GBC look like it has been tampered with or modded?

Well, I put in new batteries after I got it, as the ones in there were out of juice. There was this strange white flaky stuff on the old batteries when I took them out, and it was in the battery slot. I will clean it out and try again.

Yep sounds like you has some bad batteries there.

I had the same thing happen with some Pure Energy alkaline batteries in my GBC once. It was the only device I ever had batteries do that in, so I don't know if it's just a fluke or if there is something odd about the GBC that makes it more likely to happen.
The flaky white stuff on the old batteries suggests that they leaked. Clean the contacts with a swab and methylated spirits (only a tad), then dry with a tissue. Try again with normal AA batteries and you shouldn't have a problem

Hey everyone, I think I've found a solution to my GBC battery burning up. I was going through some old stuff and found a Mad Catz Power Solution that I had never opened. Would this keep the battery from leaking?
