Topic: Game and Watch Gallery 2 Question

Hey guys I have question that if you could help me out with that would be great. So today I started up Game and Watch Gallery 2 on my Gameboy Color. Upon getting to the main menu I learned all my data had been wiped. I have noidea how to delete save data on this game and no one but me has had acces to the game. Could it be that the game uses one of those watch batteries that old Pokemon games use? If so how do you replace it or how much would it cost to get it fixed? Thank you all in advance who ever may help find out what this problem is.
