Depends on the definition of beaten, if reaching the credits then Pokémon Blue. If getting 100% completion so like getting all 150 Pokémon in gen 1 then Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins.
Super Mario 64 cause it was my first and only game for a long time in my chidhood.I beat it and i beat it again cause i loved the hell out of that game.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
I'm currently playing Faith The Unholy Trinity, Dead Space( remake), Crow Country and Steel Rising.
What is the first video game that you ever took down? Mine was Super Mario World when I was 5 years old. I still remember jumping around the living room once I finally got that 6th and final hit on Bowser. To this day Super Mario World is still my favourite Mario game.

Yeah, it was the same for me. SMW for life. EVERY other 2D platformer just doesn't seem to measure up when the first one I ever played (and beat) was just so amazing--the controls STILL can't be beaten by these floaty, HD glorified clones.
I do keep 2D and 3D Mario games separate though because they just feel so different.

I have to guess at this. Either Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 3, Jungle Book on Genisis, Aladdin on Genesis, one of the sonic games or if I didn't actually manage to beat any of those than it was Mario 64.
OR it could have been either Super Mario Land 1 or 2 on the gameboy...
I started gaming on the 2600 but I don't think I completed any. Most didn't have any real endings anyway.I would say my first title I finished would have probably been 1 of the Dizzy games on the Sinclair Spectrum 128k +2A.My first console game I finished was definitley Alex the Kidd in Miracle World on the Master System.Loved that game and was completely oblivious to Mario until a good few years later
Kirby's Adventure for the NES. That's the 1st time I beat and completed a game. Also the only game I had at the moment that had a beginning and end, not counting Super Mario Bros.
A dying animal struggles, thrashes and howls in protest as its life torn from it. To see this in action, watch Animal Planet. The same thing happens when a video game is or isn't released. To see this in action, stay here.

Pokémon Yellow, the funny thing is that I couldn't even understand most of the dialogues. Sometimes I had to grab a dictionary in order to translate some stuff because I really wanted to know what they were saying. Great times.

Very very well said. The new games are like interchangeable generic platformers with Mario and friends thrown on them like some sackboy like stickers for the most part. The only one that seemed to stand out was the Mario U title at launch since they said it enough, they intentionally aped Super Mario World to give it more of a feel and they did.
Also to that other post, Kirby's Adventure is a hell of a good game, best of the Kirby's to me for 2D titles and a great way to get started on playing platformers and one to finish. They did so much so right it's a crime it came out so late so many skipped it. I didn't even own it until around 1996~ from a used shop and I took that one down 100% and enjoyed it so.

The first game I ever beat was spiderman (2000) on the ps1. I loved it, except for that sewer level and those pink symbiotes but overall it was a good game and I loved it. Also it had imo one of the best ending levels in any game or is it that I haven't beaten too many games, oh well.
Also the guy from the video somehow skipped the ending cutscene but I guess I'll just link the video below.
