Maybe this should have been in the GBA thread since my gameboy is a GBA SP, but the game I'm mainly thinking of is a Gameboy color game. So I recently ordered that Tobu Tobu that was released in 2019 I think. So technically its not a official game, but its not a bootlegg either so I hope its ok I'm asking.
Just wondering if unofficial games can harm my GBA SP somehow. Might also get that game where you play as agameboy beating up phones if unofficial games can't harm my GBA.
They are just ROMS that the game reads. I have NOT heard of a bricked or damaged GB or GBA because of bootleg/unofficial cartridges.
The only thing I could think of is if the cartridge board is too rough that it might damage the connector pins inside the console but still that might be a placement error on the part of the player.
@Zuljaras Thanks for the answer ^_^
Don't remember where I heard it, so had to ask just to be sure. I think everything should be fine then, unless I get a screwed up copy of the game.
@Tobiaku I'm working on building a rare physical Switch collection consisting of primarily visual novels and limited run games. I'd like to talk on here somehow. Is there a message function or anything like that?
@JustMonika I don't know of any DM system on Nintendo life, but you could perhaps make a thread about ut in the Switch section on the forum and ask people about tips to games there?
I read some stuff that bootlegs or flashcarts could possibly damage consoles if they are not well-designed (like improper voltage of the memory chips could overheat the console, something like that).
@Tobiaku I'm Shaun Dunham on Facebook and @Solidgearmara on Twitter. Monika is my profile picture everywhere. You can add me there. I can also give you my Switch code tomorrow morning once I get off work and get home.
