remember in mario 64, all the bosses gave a little speech, and then battle mario for the star? like wiggler, and how he doesn't want mario to take the star? after you defeat him, he realizes that he doesn't need it, and gives it to mario willingly.
in mario galaxy, things are completely different. when he "accidentally" lands on dino piranha's egg, for example. obviously, the egg is upset, for being woken up. mario continues to provoke him by cracking the whole egg. no speeches. just mindless murdering. all the bosses death's a incredibly graphic, like the dino piranha's blood curling cry.
this has really bothered me, and just seeing bosses eyes role back in pain in mario galaxy almost makes me cry. really.
thanks for listening. please comment and give your opinions.
I don't think so. Besides, most of the bosses are on small planetoids and were going to die a slow painful death when they run out of food/water. Mario is just sparing them from a slow terrible demise. And it's not Mario's fault the launch stars just happen to send him to that spot.
But in all seriousness, you shouldn't have to worry about the safety of Wiggler and Dino Piranha. First off, they're bosses. Their purpose in the games is to get squashed by Mario. It's in the script! Second, they're not real animals, so bonk away! Third, this is the same company behind Animal Crossing an Nintendogs, two game series dedicated to animals. Worry not.
Without killing some wildlife, Mario can't collect some super-shiny Stars in order to get to the center of the universe.
You have a wonderful point. What's worse, killing a few critters or having the universe taken over by a turtle monster who might kill even more critters (good natured critters, may I add)?
you guys are all right. just compare this to mario 64.
Well, you are right about Mario being cruel to that Wiggler, but I think Mario would rather save a fair maiden than a giant caterpillar. Like I said, Mario's gotta do what Mario's gotta do.

Doesn't the egg boss (as all the bosses are implied to) work for Bowser? I don't see it at all as Mario rampaging through a delicate ecosystem. Bowser hired these dudes.
While I don't give a thought to what I'm butchering in video games, if Mario was in real life, he'd look like a psycho. Curb-stomping animals because they're obstructing his path, abusing mushrooms, jumping into slimy sewers...

I've always been of the mind that Mario is a homicidal lunatic at heart. Constantly stomping on enemies, stealing their coins, and all the while shouting "woo-hoo!" and "yahoo!" XD
