So I logged into my Xbox account for the first time in a decade. Was happy to see that a fair number of my digital purchases from back on the 360 have carried over. Child of Eden, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Shadow Complex, Geometry Wars, Splinter Cell Conviction, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, etc. It's nice to get a head start on a new console (I hope Nintendo are taking notes).

I figure I'd put $100 on my account today after work. Enough to cover the preorder for Starfield and leave a little over for something else. I was thinking Lost Odyssey, an amazing turn based rpg, but that's $25. I'll have to go over the backwards compatibility list to see what's there. Or just bank it for Baldur's Gate III next year.

@Magician
Definitely get Lost Odyssey. If you love Final Fantasy, you will love this. Try to collect every story in the game, they are so well told and atmospheric. Blue Dragon is also worth a look if you ask me.
@Jhena Yup, I played through both Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon when they originally released, but I have been wanting to replay Lost Odyssey again. I bought a 360 at its launch specifically for Condemn: Criminal Origins, so I'm happy to see that it's backwards compatible.

@Magician Have you considered Game Pass? When I got my Series X, I didn't think I wanted Game Pass, but tried a month of it just to play some 360 and One X games I'd missed, and was instantly converted. Bad timing as they'd just nerfed the effectiveness of the 'Gold Upgrade' trick, but you can still get a year of it for less than the cost of one brand new game.
Honestly been very impressed with Xbox as a whole. I thought I was buying something for a handful of exclusives, but it's instead become my go-to console because of the backwards compatibility situation. Games I bought almost 20 years, just ready to be downloaded at no extra cost. Now I use a price tracking site, and I'm slowly replacing my entire physical 360 and PS4 collection for digital when stuff shows up on an 80-90% off sale.
Nope, no interest in Game Pass. It would be a good value, if Xbox were my one and only platform. Or if I was still an achievement hunter, but I haven't cared about trophies / achievements in over fifteen years, lol. But I have a difficult time playing the games I get for "free" as part of having Playstation Plus Essential. Between that and my backlog for other platforms, the prospect of being a GP subscriber makes no sense.
Just a quick question, how do I submit a request to add games to the available list of games to add to your collection on here?
For those wondering, I'm missing these games:
Forza Motorsport 2 (Xbox 360)
Halo 3 ODST (Xbox 360)*
Star Wars: Battlefront (Original Xbox)
Star Wars: Battlefront II (Original Xbox)
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (Xbox 360)
Shows as "Pending Approval" but I included it here anyways.
Just figured I'd ask here since this is the Xbox thread.
Edit: Yes, I'm aware of the "Submit Missing Games" button, but I'm either blind or it's not there because I don't see an option to add any Xbox games.
@LukesterIncorporated you would do so on Pure Xbox. Your NL login works over there but each site only tracks games for the ecosystem it follows. So your xbox games go under your pure xbox profile and your PS games go under your push square profile. Sega games might be the weird one because Sega used to be a console manufacturer and isn’t now but those games appear on modern consoles. I do think time extension tracks everything though.

@Magician Lost Odyssey is on frequent digital sales, so wait a bit and you'll have the chance to buy it for a few pounds/euros/dollars.
@ZeldaFan83 It's not possible in the console's default state (retail mode), perhaps because Microsoft was harassed by Nintendo about it even though emulators are legal and you had to use your backups. Now, you need to buy a developer account for using emulators on Xbox but it's just $20. Then, you need to set the console in developer mode and back to retail mode when you want to buy and play Xbox games. It's like turning your Xbox into a PC and then back into a console, although the two modes can look exactly the same.
Fired up Too Human for a few hours. Waxed nostalgia about the use of the analog sticks for melee attacks, which is a control scheme you don't see outside of the twin stick shooter very often. Unfortunately, I was quickly reminded that the missions themselves are too long (the second mission is three hours long, lol), and the port has audio issues. I played most of those four hours in complete silence, music wise.
Best left as a fond memory I suppose.

I think after stumbling out of the gate at launch, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is making a compelling case to be the second game I purchase for my XSX. With Baldur's Gate III being an obvious third choice, once it releases on XSX next year.
Well, the review embargo lifts tomorrow. I'm going to assume the Metacritic score will come in around 92. Bethesda need a win coming off of Fallout 76. MS need a win coming off of Redfall.
Stakes are high.

I'll be listening the kinda funny podcast review as I'm driving around for work. I have confidence they'll deliver a minimum of 85. Sounds like a lot of love went into this one. I was overwhelmed with totk, so no doubt with this being 1000 planets and so many different things to do, I'll definitely be overwhelmed. I'm not shelling out for early access, just going to play on gamepass. I'll buy it if i like it when it hits a sale.
It's so close. Last gen, the two games with the highest play times for me were No Man's Sky and Fallout 4, and this just looks like those two games got together and had a baby. I've even bought the Starfield controller to play it on and spent all week watching space movies like Interstellar and the Martian.
Probably the one that'll take the longest is maxing out your relationship level with a companion.
The rest were mostly story campaign, skill progression, and exploration checkboxes.
Edit: Reviews have begun to roll in. Seems like Starfield will land somewhere in the high 80s. Folks have gripes about planetary boundries not being wide open like No Man's Sky. Many of the same qualms NMS had at its launch; inventory space concerns, content ocean-wide but an inch-deep, etc. Ultimately, very worth playing, but not as great as Skyrim or Fallout.
