I like Animal Crossing because it's a very chill, down-to-earth game, with cute characters and an adorable art style to boot. I love how I can customize my house/campsite with stuff I enjoy - in my case, a bunch of Mario-themed decorations! You're free to do whatever you like at your own pace, too.
The only thing I could do without is how the game works in real time (ie how your animal friends tell you "I missed you, where have you been?" if you haven't played it in a while. Plus weeds start popping up). I would have preferred a setup that's similar to how Stardew Valley does it with its in-game calendar, rather than real time. That's just me though.
The things i like and don't like from Animal Crossing games especially ACNL :
Likes : It's cute game, Relaxing for casual player since the tasks are pretty simple, Almost no violence in this game
Dislike : Wall of texts from their conversations, Animal villagers can move out if we don't play the game everyday, Not Full 3D world (locked camera angle), Time travel that can raise the risk of losing villagers, limited amount of villagers we can accept as our residents, ridiculous high price from certain things, still unable to play as reversal role as animals that live together with other animals or human.
Likes: The music (well, I'm indifferent to much of Wild World/City Folk's music, outside of certain songs that came back in New Leaf), my initial first time Animal Crossing GCN experience back in the day, KK Slider (I know, surprising choice!), the Mabel Sisters' story, the better parts of the writing, Isabelle and the New Leaf Mayor stuff, playing online with friends, much of the holidays and events, NATE THE BEAR who somehow was in every Animal Crossing town I ever had (except for New Leaf where I only saw him...either in the shopping area or someone else's town?).
Dislikes: The real time requirements where you fail by deciding to take a more a couple of days break like a normal person often does, the repetition of the dialogue (especially once you get villagers that are the same personality type as another one you've had), the lack of more compelling goals and the lack of more Mabel SIsters levels of character stories.
