I have over 100 games in my collection that I haven't finished!
I just keep buying new games at a steady pace, and I have trouble getting in to most games I start playing.
Anyone else have this problem?
-Every difficult NES VC game I own except Castlevania 1 and the first 3 Megamans
-Breath of Fire 2. Deleted save file after my old Wii died meant I had to start over. It's not worth the grinding, I think I only started over at all to see the brilliant first half hour again.
-New games I haven't finished. Not surprising.
-Brutal Legend. I am the only person who stopped once I figured out it was RTS accidently instead of because RTS is somehow bad.
-Halo 3. I should someday, just to end the trilogy for me.
-Crimson Skies on Xbox. Great game, need to get back to it someday.
-Ninja Gaiden, see Crimson Skies. Will I ever beat a Ninja Gaiden game?
-The World is Not Enough, basically the only N64 game I have left to beat. Unfortunately, it doesn't save and one level I've never figured out how to not get caught in near the end.
-Megaman X3 on my X Collection. I couldn't care less about X4 and beyond.
-LA Noire
-A Boy and His Blob Wii
-I guess Metal Slug 3 and beyond on Metal Slug collection
-Animal Crossing. I almost forgot to make this joke.
-Also, Balloon Fight I don't think you can beat so yeah

Not that many, compared to most people. But I'm soon getting Kirby's Epic Yarn and DKCR, and I probably won't finish one or both of those.

What I was hoping for, is to get some peer-to-peer support in beating my beast of a list of games. I wanna beat them and I don't have a whole lot of money to keep buying games that I'm not going to play that much.
It was not unheard of to play the same games over and again as a kid (and actually like it).
How can I get that same devotion again to enjoy a game before moving on to the next one?
Backloggery might help, but ultimately getting through your backlog is simple: stop buying games and play what you got. If you have 100+ unfinished games, finding at least one you really want to play and will ultimately finish shouldn't be problematic. Another way the BL can help you is that it has a Fortune Cookie, which is a randomizer you can use to pick the games for you. As for getting the devotion to finish your games, you have to figure that out yourself. I've seen many people try many different things, all with mixed results. You have to find what works for you. Personally, I just find that I have to find the right game before I can get up the urge to play something the whole way through, but that doesn't work for everybody (heck, for me it means I beat only a couple of games a year).
To be fair, I only play games as long as they're still fun, and almost never sit down with a game with the objective of beating it (though I always do finish them on the rare times I actually do that...). So I have a lot of games that I quit near the end just because the last levels aren't fun.
